DuPage Republicans think, ideologically, politically, and strategically, that it’s still the era of Bob Schillerstrom. Almost all of the DuPage Republicans in office a week ago were from that political tree - Krajewski, Zay, Tornatore, Eckhoff, Henry, etc. For all of the complaining that Republicans do that “nobody hears them”, it wouldn’t kill them to go back to the drawing board and think critically as to why voters purposefully created a 17-1 majority on the Board. DuPage hasn’t gone for a Republican president since 2004, and the gap between 1992 and 2024 widened by over 30 points. It’s not a “Republican” place anymore, and it hasn’t been for a long time.
