Lockstep? More like Goose Step if you ask me.

  2. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 12:40 pm:

    McKinney and the Baise piece…

I was pleased McKinney tweeted it.

  3. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 12:42 pm:

I reached out to former Speaker Boehner one last time and he never responded to my golf opportunity at Murifield…

    That bummed me out.

  4. - Aldyth - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 12:45 pm:

I truly believe Judy Baar Topinka would not be caught dead at this RNC this season.

  5. - wordslinger - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 12:47 pm:

Baise didn’t want to be part of this? The sober and solemn gathering to select the Republican nominee to be leader of the free world?.

It’s already an exercise in statesmanship.

Just this morning, Trump insinuated Obama backs the cop shooters, Newt ripped Romney and called HW, W, and Jeb “childish”, and Trump’s campaign chair called Gov. Kaisich an “embarrassment to his state.”

You can see how Trump is attracting supporters as varied as David Duke and Kim Jong Un.

  6. - And I Approved This Message - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 12:56 pm:

Mark Suppelsa doesn’t need his car to go in reverse. The Republican Party is doing it for him.

  7. - Anonymous - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:06 pm:

What are the rules for a 17 year old delegate voting at a convention? No minimum age requirement? Just wondering.

  8. - Amalia - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:06 pm:

Trump called the Baton Rouge shooter a part of Radical Islam to which a male Fox Cable host said Nation of Islam. ok, we get it, conflate away.

want Rs from Illinois with a Go Pro to show the Illinois delegation on a regular basis.

  9. - Sue - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:15 pm:

What we don’t need is 8 more years of lousy Supreme Court picks

  10. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:16 pm:

AA thinks Flannery has reached or is nearing the “Zero (Banned Word) Given” point in his career.

PS: The Colbert video is mildly NSFW.

  11. - Annonin' - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:27 pm:

    The coverage was gripping

  12. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 1:43 pm:

    Bumper Sticker:
“I’d rather do Bath Salts than the RNC!”

  13. - Union Man - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:05 pm:

Why doesn’t the Guvnah just tell the truth on why he’s really not attending?

  14. - Amalia - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:12 pm:

best Colbert video can be found all over the web today, he crashes the podium in his Hunger Games approach to the nomination. it’s classic Colbert and very funny.

  15. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:22 pm:

    LOL! Amanda …

@AmandaVinicky - Look who had a speaking role on opening day of the #RNC2016. It’s Illinois’ recently departed COO, Linda Lingle.

If Trump wins Gov. Lingle can organize the Inaugural Parade…

  16. - Anon221 - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:22 pm:

Where in the World is Linda Lingle??? In Cleveland! Sheesh!

  17. - AlfondoGonz - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:44 pm:

I had the distinct privilege of analyzing the Bath Salts Bill that BVR just signed. A profoundly worthless piece of legislation. No LEO’s, retailers, or any would-be interested party gave a hoot about it. Good job Rep. Bourne. Truly representing your constituents who voted you in…

  18. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 2:47 pm:

It was brought to my attention… the governor “may” be attending a golf outing today… or in the days ahead… as he avoids the convention…

If the Governor needs a “fourth”…

  19. - Highland, IL - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:07 pm:

Cannot find a list of delegates that are actually attending the convention. There might be a lot of empty seats.

  20. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:17 pm:

    Welp…

Not folling the Rules… Chaos ensues…

No unity, Mr. Trump. No unity.

  21. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:20 pm:

    Welp… RNC

Not following the Rules… Chaos ensues…

No unity, Mr. Trump. No unity

If more states walk out, like Colorado… Wow…

  22. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:27 pm:

Alfondo Gond wrote in part: “no interested party..gave a hoot” about the bath salts bill.

Does this mean Owl Sandack will get a signing pen?

  23. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:30 pm:

    - AA -

    I hope so.

The Owl Sandack needs something for his efforts I guess(?)

  24. - Oswego Willy - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:32 pm:

Breaking: The Republican Party in Cleveland?

    Breaks my heart.

  25. - Todd - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 3:45 pm:

    whats a CLE steack house?

  26. - illini - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 4:22 pm:

These next few days are definitely going to be interesting!

Whether they are consequential or transformative remains to be seen!

  27. - Arthur Andersen - Monday, Jul 18, 16 @ 5:09 pm:

The Owl may be using his new pen for communications, since his Twitter has gone dark.
