A commemoration of sorts

* From the Democratic Governors Association…
In commemoration of Rauner’s eight credit downgrades, below is a list of eight times he profiled the issue in his 2014 election campaign.
* My personal “favorite” because it has everything…
“We are a disaster,” declares Rauner, who rattles off Illinois’ shortcomings at each campaign event: four of the last seven governors sent to prison, about $5 billion in overdue bills, one of the highest unemployment rates in the U.S. and the worst credit rating of any state.
Past due bills now stand at $14.655 billion, about triple the “disaster” level from 2014. And we still have one of the highest unemployment rates in the US and we still have the worst credit rating of any state.

“Bruce Rauner fails… ”
Bruce. Rauner. Fails.
According to the Rauner Campaign, these downgrades are the fault of a governor.
Hmm.

It’s only a disaster if you can use it against your opponent. Otherwise, it is an accomplishment because 1.4% doesn’t care about the down grades.

There must be something at the end of his rainbow when he is out.

When a ship sinks or runs aground you never see the crew or the second in command blamed, it’s the captains head that’s in the noose and he can’t hide. I hope that whoever runs against him in the election mentions his failures often. Rauner missed a chance to get a budget this past session and will be desperate to get one in an election year to show he finally did something. I hope that he wasn’t counting on the Dems. in the GA to help him out with that. You reap what you sow.

===There must be something at the end of his rainbow when he is out.===
… a pile of bills, closed university(ies), social safety nets obliterated.
That also… could be 5 years from now too.

It’s all part of the plan.

Bankruptcy. I believe thst has been the plan from the begining
- Arock - Monday, Jun 5, 17 @ 12:48 pm:
Yet even during the temporary tax increase years our credit rating dropped and our unemployment was the highest. We also lost business and population a trend that has been going on for years. Yet nothing on the Governor’s desk for him to sign and change the course of Illinois. Both sides are responsible for this mess and there needs to be drastic reforms to fix it.
- Oswego Willy - Monday, Jun 5, 17 @ 12:52 pm:
Oh, - Arock -, lol
Nope. It’s on Rauner.
The Rauner campaign told me so…
Rauner, in 2014…
===“Illinois’ credit rating has been downgraded 13 times under Pat Quinn and now, because of his failed leadership, our state’s economy and finances are still broken. Pat Quinn put special interest politics ahead of Illinois workers. We need to change direction before it’s too late.” – Rauner campaign spokesperson Mike Schrimpf===
Good try, thou…

Candidate Rauner would rip Gov. Rauner’s tenure to shreds.

Blue dog, states cannot go bankrupt. Federal law prohibits.
- Huh? - Monday, Jun 5, 17 @ 2:06 pm:
Ginhouse - You must have never read the book titled “The Caine Mutiny”.
- RNUG - Monday, Jun 5, 17 @ 2:32 pm:
== Blue dog, states cannot go bankrupt. Federal law prohibits. ==
If you are a believer in conspiracies, it is part of the ALEC plan to get a state in such bad shape that they can then try to force SCOTUS to allow state bankruptcy.

RNUG - I’m a believer!
- Ginhouse Tommy - Monday, Jun 5, 17 @ 6:05 pm:
I read the Caine Mutiny but I don’t see that happening here. A mutiny among the ILGOP is what needed but alas.
RNUG I believe you but what possible good could come from that. What’s next marshal law? That is scary.
