I may disagree with how the Governor has operated, but I do respect his tenacity to achieve his ends and he has remained consistent in his demands.

  5. - 47th Ward - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 3:20 pm:

I think the moves Governor Rauner has made to clean up the mess at Chicago State University are worthy of praise. The Democrats proved they couldn’t or wouldn’t make the necessary changes to rescue an important institution. Rauner is taking the right steps to stop the political patronage/piggy bank politics from ruining a once-proud community anchor. Bravo, and keep it up.

  6. - Inspector Gadget - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 3:21 pm:

    Mendoza never gives up.

  7. - Been There - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 3:22 pm:

Rauner has donated generously to various causes. And a lot of them I don’t think he gets any political capital out of them.

  8. - Chicago Cynic - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 3:23 pm:

Rich- I think you should request all the Illinois politicians to say something nice about the opposite political party. In the same spirit and for the same reason you asked your posters to do so.

  61. - Honeybear - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 4:37 pm:

I really appreciate Gov. Rauner requesting the waiver which obtained the exemption from the work requirement for food stamps last year. It went against the grain of his Republican peers. Many people had food because of that. I know it took courage to do the right thing in that instance. I won’t forget that.

  65. - James Knell - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 4:47 pm:

Rauner actually sounded like he cared about people accused of minor crimes who couldn’t raise even small amounts for bail. And if I’m not mistaken, he actually did something to fix the problem.

    Durbin is just sooo nice

The governor likes craft beer and supports the craft beer movement.

  69. - Jc19pd2 - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 6:01 pm:

I hate Rauner with everything I have in me. But for the sake of the question, it’s nice he is a dog lover. I felt bad when his dog passed away last year.

  70. - Cleric dcn - Wednesday, Jun 14, 17 @ 6:20 pm:

Well I did not know he like good beer but that certainly means he at least has something in common with me. How about a big push for the craft brewing in Illinois we can become the beer envy of the the nation.
