Wednesday, Mar 7, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller …Adding… Raw audio of the presser is here. * Earlier today…
* And this happened…
You can caption that pic if you want, or talk about Rauner and gun control bills, or both. Up to you.

What a suprise! Will he be upset because us steel reopened its plant without his reforms.
- Politically incorrect - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 11:44 am:
Realistically, yeah banning bump stocks and increased licensing will help, but when’s the last time a bump stock was used in Chicago? 40% of the guns in Chicago come from Indiana
Sounds like a federal issue to me.

Tough to have a conversation when one side won’t even call the other sides bill for discussion

And when I say “break”, I want a clean break. In the event of a knock-down, you will be directed to go to a neutral corner. Are there any questions? You are both professionals so I expect a good, clean fight. Protect yourself at all times. Okay, touch gloves and come out at the bell.

Close it down. 47th Ward wins (by a knockout).
- What? - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 12:11 pm:
On my first day of law school, my contracts professor told us that whenever someone says something is “clear” it usually means the facts are actually not clear. Gov. Rauner sure helps support the professor’s observation.
- Jocko - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 12:11 pm:
The “V” in Bruce V. Rauner actually stands for “vague”.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 12:24 pm:
Rahm, as he reaches to shake Rauner’s hand remembers how Bruce tells the story how he “made” him.
Pauses happen for lots of reasons, memories are one of those reasons…
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 12:28 pm:
Is the Rauner constituency the 2A voters downstate he probably feels he has in the bag so if he will move any gun bill in the interest of keeping 2A voters “not too angry”, or will Rauner continue the left-leaning social agenda signatures, and count on the anti “She-Caw-Go” rhetoric ginned heavier than a signature?
Questions abound when you stand for so little.
- Pundent - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 12:31 pm:
In Rauner’s defense I think he’s been crystal clear on every question that has been put to him. The answer is, and will always be, Madigan.
- wordslinger - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 1:55 pm:
–Rauner claims his gun positions are “crystal clear” when they actually aren’t–
–Nothing about that vague response is crystal clear & it ignores the question.–
–Rauner says he has been “clear” on guns (he hasn’t though).–
It’s now just rote that reporters have to point out that Rauner is lying.
Seriously, what’s the point of this guy?

==Sounds like a federal issue to me. ==
It is a federal issue, but the federal government has shown zero willingness to take any steps. That puts it back into the state’s hands.

Rahm: “So is that a real cowboy belt buckle ? I always wanted one of those. That and a pony ”
BR: ” Not sure if I can help with the belt, but stop but the Colorado digs sometime, we have a nice Shetland pony that you can ride. While were ridin we can shoot some guns and discuss why going after law abiding citizens rights is not going to solve the murder rate in Chitown”

What’s clear is there is a race between him vetoing bills and the rest of us early voting.
- Al - Wednesday, Mar 7, 18 @ 4:08 pm:
Per Protocals, Bruce needs to check with Governor Diana to see what Illinois Executive Branch Policy is. He is so not busy with his not blind trust he does not even feel in charge. Gun policy is clear, just ask the Misses.

The southern Illinois gun hicks still have not figured out that police unions are their worst enemy. Not one police union in Illinois supported concealed carry (for citizen/taxpayers) for forty years. When southern IL good old boy Brandon Phelps sponsored his concealed carry bill, southern IL types like Valinda Rowe fell all over themselves giving away the goodies like Duty to Inform and gun seizure during police stops for licensed citizens so the police unions wouldn’t (openly) oppose Phelps NRA bill.
It’s been four years since Phelps carry bill passed in 2013, and the gun hicks haven’t moved an inch, even with a Republican governor. The “Bauer bill” body armor and magazine ban proves that NRA members will keep coming back again and again to get kicked in the teeth by police unions. Bruce Rauner has nothing to fear from gun owners, especially in southern IL.
