“Pigeon-Feeding Woman Curses Out State Rep On Facebook Live After Being Asked To Stop”
Tuesday, Jul 31, 2018 - Posted by Rich Miller Apparently, that Blue Line stop has a real filth problem that Rep. Andrade is attempting to address. But, man, he really went above and beyond.

Rep. Andrade is an old school ward guy. This doesn’t surprise me at all.
- 47th Ward - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 2:58 pm:
Agreed, Jaime isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. Good for him for caring enough about this to be out working at 1 in the morning, cleaning up pigeon (stuff).

An old couple is on a walk, when a pigeon flies by and deposits a poopy little present on the woman’s head.
“Yuck!” yells the woman. “Get some toilet paper.”
“What for?” replies the man. “He must be half-a-mile away by now.”

He got the stomach surgery and is looking great after a good deal of weight loss

Am I correct or did they stop throwing rice at weddings several years ago because it was bad for birds to eat?
- DuPage Bard - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:09 pm:
That may be the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while
- Yup! - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:20 pm:
Respect, Rep. Andrade is out there working hard for his community.
- Saluki - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:24 pm:
Every aspect of this is weird.

For some of us, feeding the pigeons is the only source of joy left in the world. Attempt to take that away at your peril.
- Roman - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:26 pm:
Good for Jaime. He is a classic Chicago neighborhood guy — deserve a promotion to alderman. (downstaters, that is not snark.)
- Anon - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:29 pm:
I’m watching it on facebook. Where does the woman come in?
- Nearly Normal - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 3:32 pm:
Jen–some churches banned rice tossing at weddings because it is hard to clean up. Birds can eat rice and not blow up or have other issues. However, a wedding participant could slide on the rice and take a tumble. That might cause a lawsuit. Ask our Lieut-Governor about lawsuits for falls.

Pigeons are little more than rats with wings.

Yes, people shouldn’t sue other people when they suffer cognizable harms under the law. Great comment section this site has.

Slip and Sue only sues to “teach lessons”
Never found out how much the lawyer got, she donated versus kept or paid her own bills…
Slip and Sue was hired, and not for pigeon-feed.

Andrade is a worker bee, I wouldn’t mind 176 more just like him.

And yet you keep coming back to read more. What does that say about you?

This only works if you fully grasp why Ole Slip and Sue gets dinged.
Do you know, or you just playing a victim to the history of things you have no idea about.

When London’s Crystal Palace faced the same delima in the 1850’s, Queen Victoria asked the aged Duke of Wellington (of Waterloo fame) what to do. He replied simply “Sparrow Hawks, Ma’am.” Maybe the same approach will work here /g

State literally insolvent due to long term budget issues and we are working to find solutions to chronic pigeon issues.

Shaming a public servant for…. serving the public?
- Lane Tech Guy - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 5:18 pm:
Andrade is one of the few public servants who goes above and beyond for the community.
What other politician would take the time to go out and ensure the cleanliness/safety of a location? If people cared half as much as Andrade, the State would be in great shape.
He possesses those old school political skills (the good ones, not the bad ones) and probably knows every block, alley, and business in the district.
- Telly - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 5:20 pm:
There are “Springfield legislators,” who excel under the dome — they pass complex bills, give good speeches, and impress lobbyist and reporters.
And there are “district legislators” (like Jaime,) who spend less time learning policy, but they know what their constituents care about and they don’t mind doing the grunt work at home.
A handful of members do both, but if I had to choose between one or the other, I’d take a district legislator over a Springfield legislator any day.

They call ‘em “flying rats” for a reason.

A very tasty squab recipe calls for the bird to be plucked leaving the skin intact. Wrap in bacon. Cooked to desired level and placed over a bed of rice.
- FormerParatrooper - Tuesday, Jul 31, 18 @ 6:00 pm:
Put pigeon the menu for 4.95, few would eat it. Call it squab at 15.00 and it sells out.
- PublicServant - Wednesday, Aug 1, 18 @ 7:02 am:
I hope the woman gets fined $500. Less money for her bags of rice.
