Responding to what his mayoral campaign called an investigation by Attorney General Lisa Madigan, a defiant Willie Wilson on Thursday defended his recent cash giveaways and said there’s “nothing wrong” with his charitable foundation’s paperwork. […]

Noting he was raised in the Jim Crow South, Wilson said, “I’m just tired of white people telling me what to do.” […]

Wilson’s campaign called the news conference Thursday to respond to what the attorney general’s office has said is a request for information, not an investigation. […]

Former alderman and state Sen. Rickey Hendon spoke alongside Wilson on Thursday and said he’s advised him to stop giving away money while this controversy swirls. Wilson said he’d stop the “foundation flow” after Sept. 1 but will continue giving cash out of his own pocket.

A Wilson spokesman promised to file the paperwork weeks ago.

Come January, that shouldn’t be a problem for him anymore.

Notice Willie is using the same tactics that Ken Dunkin used. Dunkin compared Madigan to a plantation owner and talked about plantation politics. Now Willie is doing the same thing but they both are aligned with Rauner who does nothing for blacks.

Having to file a few forms to comply with the law like everyone else has to ain’t exactly facing down Bull Connor’s firehoses and attack dogs.

Well if he doesn’t comply again net year and the A G comes after him it won’t be a white person telling him what to do so he should feel better about that

So, your measure… you invest $1 million, “you’re good”?

    Why not $2 million?

    Why not $800,000.00?

    Interesting take… money absolving…

  8. - Real - Thursday, Aug 9, 18 @ 1:14 pm:

    Iggy

That’s laughable. Depositing money in a credit Union is all you can think of after he sat in the governors office for almost 4 years?

  9. - Real - Thursday, Aug 9, 18 @ 1:23 pm:

Also to note. That 1 million dollar deposit was a campaign move to buy votes. Since then he has done nothing. That 1 million deposit was only done to help him get votes from anyone that knew nothing about him.

  10. - Arthur Andersen - Thursday, Aug 9, 18 @ 1:32 pm:

You know someone’s off the deep end when “adviser Rickey Hendon” sounds reasonable.

I don’t like anyone telling me what to do, it is usually white people (I am white) but it doesn’t matter.

Race baiting at its finest Mr. Wilson.

–“I’m just tired of white people telling me what to do.”–

And here I thought he knew what being a politician or an elected office holder was all about…

  13. - Jibba - Thursday, Aug 9, 18 @ 1:58 pm:

There are plenty of black lawyers and accountants. Maybe they could tell him what to do to comply with the law.
