I’m Sam mccann, and look at this fancy truck I bought with campaign donations.. what a Goof.
the infogrpahics are hard to read and flash off screen before ever getting to read them.
He opened pandora’s box on owning a construction company, you all saw it. Residents of the 50th might know about your failed businesses Sam, but the rest of the state doesnt know about it yet. You ready? because it doesn’t take a Rauner Warchest to expose how poorly you mishandled your personal and business finances.
But hey he’s a “conservative” the only conservative running in the race. Downstate audience will probably gobble this up but not sure if it will translate to voters.
“Charry” I do not see the Trump supporters in this State concentrating on his multiple failings, do you really think they can connect with McCann’s business failure?? If Sam touches into that base, he may get to more than 5% of the vote downstate
The campaign needs to connect with downstate Ives voters concentrating where Rauner failed in the economics and the conservative farm values, and hardworking blue collar voters Rauner mocks with costumes.
McCann needs 5% or so to make a difference.
With enough dollars, these ads tap into that pool to get the 5%.
“No one wants to shake those idle hands.” Wha??? Dont they have an editor for these spots? Homespun folksiness is one thing, but thats beyond awkward. And the graphics are worthless.
DGA should flood the Paducah, Terre Haute and Quincy markets with scary Sam-McCann-Is-Too-Conservative-For-Illinois ads. Inexpensive markets with the most powerful McCann message possible. It’s a no brainer.
Wait til you see his ads touting his days as a Marine. Oh, wait, never mind.
A lot of land mines with this guy. The only question is will Rauner’s people want to run all the opp on him (and we all know there’s a lot) and give him exposure
–DGA should flood the Paducah, Terre Haute and Quincy markets with scary Sam-McCann-Is-Too-Conservative-For-Illinois ads.–
All over Downstate. I’m sure Pritzker could afford to be generous to DGA later.
The “Ives is too conservative for Illinois” spot almost put her over the top. McCann ain’t going to win, but it would go a long way to taking a chunk out of Rauner.
I am qualified to be a Governor because I owned a failed construction company that went into bankruptcy and I claimed $38,000 in mileage reimbursements for in a 7 month period on this fancy pickup.
My candidacy is primarily funded by Democratic special interest groups and will benefit the hand picked candidate of Speaker Madigan - JB Pritzker by peeling off some votes downstate
Quite effective if they reach their intended audience. They’ve got trucks, construction equipment, flags, and cows. Obviously he’s zeroed in on his constituency where Rauner is still trying to figure out who his is.
If McCann can harvest even a small percentage of the Ives vote he will leave a mark on this race.
… an incumbent with no constituency has to worry about a candidate running to his right… with such baggage… and that the incumbent *still*… has to worry about a McCann.
These ads will get McCann above 5% statewide for sure. They’ll help JB become Governor and they will also add a recognized 3rd party with all the rights and opportunities of the GOP and the Dems.
Now if the Conservative party can do better than the Green Party did coming out of 2006 they may have something there.
I liked the 2nd one a lot, it reminded me of Gary Forby’s best ad. I thought the first one was just ok, I thought whoever wrote the script for the 3rd one didn’t realize those words were intended to be spoken aloud because it definitely didn’t roll off the tongue.
… and yet, Rauner signed a budget with a 32% tax increase, no reforms, and a social agenda an incumbent California Governor would beg to have, including taxpayer funded abortions and making Illinois a “sanctuary state” too.
That’s stopping MJM?
===Because JB will be infinitely worse===
Worse than a whole GA never giving Illinois a budget?
I doubt that.

Bruce Rauner is a Raunerite.
Bruce Rauner has never been, and is not, a Republican… abd Rauner is in no way… a conservative.
