Senator Iris Martinez and Board of Review Commissioner Mike Cabonargi both want to run against Dorothy Brown for Clerk of the Cook County Circuit Court
I don’t see either of them beating her. She has achieved Ed Burke status.
We were at the wonderful winning Sox game last night. The weather was great, the stands were crowded for a change, and there was a lot of interaction and energy. The subject of the new gas tax came up from somebody who had had a few brews and people-total strangers- three and four rows away- were joining in to complain about the tax. (Not the Yankee fans because they had other issues to contend with.) But I don’t think all the unhappy conversationalists are IPI and Kass readers. The hefty amount of the tax increase and its regressive nature is going to turn out to be a big problem for the governor I think.
