Tribune: FBI raids Kevin Quinn’s house
Wednesday, Jun 26, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller
* Big scoop…
Federal agents have raided the Far South Side home of Kevin Quinn, a former top political operative for House Speaker Michael Madigan and brother of the 13th Ward alderman, the Tribune has learned.
The FBI executed a search warrant in mid-May at Quinn’s home in the 10300 block of South California Avenue in the West Beverly neighborhood, according to three sources familiar with the investigation.
It’s unclear what information the agents were seeking or whether the raid stemmed from Quinn’s past work with Madigan’s powerful political organization. One source, however, told the Tribune federal agents had shown interest in computers and electronic equipment.
No charges have been filed against Quinn, 43, who could not be reached Wednesday. Messages left for Madigan’s spokesman and lawyer were not returned.

Kevin Quinn seems like a weak link, and it seems his life is coming apart. The feds can smell the blood in the water, and I bet they think he can take them up the food chain if they lean on him.

If the Feds think they’re going to get the speaker, they need to “aim higher.”

Burke, Solis, Quinn. It’s all part of the same big probe and it points in one direction. The feds don’t care much about a foot soldier. They want the big Kahuna.

What is in the water in the northeastern part of our state? There seems to be FBI raids in that area weekly? Yet, naysayers rail about ‘Springfield’ politicians. I say this, but the truth is that the location of the majority of the population is naturally going to be where the majority of the publicity comes from. Please, can the rest of us learn from other peoples’mistakes and stop doing things that will get you raised.

Raided, not raised. No glasses, small phone screen.

Tip of the iceberg. When all is said and done, this will make Silver Shovel look like a shoplifting case. This is a big moment for the state and city.

Vodka does make a fair point just because someone close to someone is a target doesn’t mean they are going to get indicted.

There were many people that thought Burke was untouchable….until he wasn’t. Even the most careful people can be brought down by a sketchy sibling.

This will be an interesting watch.
It’s quite foolish to speculate what it all means in the big picture, but if one thinks Quinn is the end target, that’s not usually how the “guys down the street” as Rich Daley would say, operate.
I’ll watch what *does* happen. I’ll leave the speculation to others.

Which means she is presumed innocent of whatever charges nobody brought against her.
