Pigeon poops on pol’s parade
Monday, Sep 16, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller
* As we’ve discussed before, Rep. Jaime Andrade has been trying to eliminate the horde of pigeons at the Irving Park Blue Line stop for over a year. This time the pigeons fought back. From CBS 2…
Talk about dumb luck during a Morning Insiders interview – near a very busy Chicago Transit Authority stop nicknamed the “pigeon poop station.”
While we were shooting a follow-up story about the problems at the station, the unthinkable happened. CBS 2’s Lauren Victory was talking with a lawmaker who was fighting to fix the problem, and he fell victim to it right when the cameras were rolling.
That’s right, a pigeon relieved itself on state Rep. Jaime Andrade (D-Chicago) right on cue as he spoke.
Andrade had just been badmouthing the pigeons.
“I’ll just have to go clean up,” he said. “That’s what happens to my constituents. They get s**t on all time.”

This is probably the main reason the Eastern Bloc wants no part of Chicago in Illinois… Cow dung on your boots no problem.. a pigeon pooping on your Carhart coat>> that is a problem

He’s looking at this all wrong. How could his point be better made. His response was very classy. Idea: when you get your ‘do over’, wear one of those super classy umbrella hats. Maybe just a visual will do the trick.

Then, they would want to isolate any urban area. They would also want to stay away from the Capitol, which is notorious for it’s Pigeon problem.

A robust set of bird puns available for use here. A missed opportunity.

This all reminds me of the scene in “Milk” where Harvey Milk takes on the issue of dog poop in order to get some positive local press.

When pigeon is on the menu, a lot of folk turn up their nose at it. Call it squab, charge $25.00 and it becomes exotic and people eat it.
There is an idea to generate revenue and to cull the pigeons at the same time.

Sorry, when my parents sent me to my uncle’s farm, I was too busy shoveling the larger variety of droppings out of the milk stalls to notice. P.S. And wishing I had been sent to YMCA Camp instead.

And do not worry if you are attending my September 24, 2019 ROOFTOP fundraiser. I will ask the southern caucus to send me their best pheasant hunters so I may strategically stage them on the rooftop to get the pigeons if they come in for an attack.
