It’s encouraging to see some corporations supporting racial justice on TV ads. The problem is so deeply ingrained that it will take a herculean effort at the very least to defeat. Hopefully we finally realize that defeating racism is a top national priority and marshal our resources toward the fight.
I heard yesterday that last Friday video books were received by disabled people. Glad the Secretary of State Library is back up and running after a three month hiatus.
It happens. There’s a heavy turnover in politics and this blog has been in existence since 2004. Not that many people in politics today were around back then.
And this morning in sunny southern IL we are dealing with a “Chicken Offal” situation. Quite literally.
From ISP District 22 in Ullin.

Caution required along about 4 miles of U.S. 51″

Just got back from my first haircut since mid-February, wasn’t sure if my guy was going to cut it or just give me an estimate. Floor looked he got a sheep ready for the State Fair when he was done.
I’m an on and off viewer due to work commitments. I must say, I get a better perspective on current legislative issues and statewide politics here than anywhere else …
I’m pretty conflicted. I want to go protest but I’m spooked by Corona. At the same time, it would be a shame to have to to tell my grandkids that I was sitting on twitter and CapFax during June of 2020.
I feel really bad about avoiding the demonstrations too. I’m donating to organizations providing bail money and to one for black news people mental health support. I’m looking for more place to support. I’m keeping social distancing until there is a vaccine.
The Southside of Chicago needs our help. I saw beautiful scenes of locals joining together and cleaning up the mess from Sunday. So much of the retail was looted. Seniors are going to suffer as there literally is nowhere to shop locally. I saw a live looting and it really was disturbing.

Quite a riveting cop chase on WGN news, watching a car get away, the perp escaping cops on foot and carjacking another car that was running at a gas station and then another chase. A crash happened. Ironically, he ran and may have got caught in a barbed wire fence. This has been a real life crime drama for like the last 30 minutes.

There have been a number of regular posters that have dropped off the last few years.
Either that or they got banned.

“Either that or they got banned.” Or their guy got bum-rushed out of office. Some have died as well.

“bum-rushed”
Man, I love that term. Nothing so accurately describes the exit of the unpopular.

@Down South,
Oye (banned punctuation).
Don’t want to begin what it will be like to be on the crew cleaning that up. Where’s a good monsoon when you need one, right?
Might be a good day to take the long away around…

Lurker, I’m on Xfinity in Champaign/Urbana and mine has been acting up for at least a half hour.
I’m trying to call the customer service number. I’d appreciate prayers for the next hour or so.
