just finished off a BLT. With homegrown T.
Should really begin ripening at the onset of the full moon.

  2. - Keyeock - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:06 am:

The magic beans must have arrived.

  3. - Perrid - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:11 am:

What is “the problem”? Are they hoping the budget fixes itself? That COVID goes away?

  4. - Cubs in '16 - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:22 am:

    @Perrid

I think the legislator is referring to the collective ‘problem’ since January 1st.

  5. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:31 am:

That “front 9” (Jan-June) was brutal. Let’s hope the “back 9” (July-Dec) plays better.

  6. - Someone you Should Know - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:37 am:

You wake up in the morning and go, Hmmm, what part of the storm (insert expletive in front) can happen today :)

  7. - Wow - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:46 am:

    Dark clouds ahead. :(

  8. - J - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:48 am:

The only thing we can control are our attitudes

  9. - @misterjayem - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:04 am:

“The only thing we can control are our attitudes”

We can also wear our masks.

    – MrJM

  10. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:22 am:

=== We can also wear our masks.===

    Exactly.

At *least* do it for others. Save the lives… of others.

    Wear your mask.

  11. - Blue Dog Dem - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:23 am:

Looks like Pfizer vaccine is showing some promise

  12. - SAP - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:24 am:

    Happy New Year everybody.

  13. - Blue Dog Dem - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:27 am:

    tomatoes are close.

  14. - Stormfield - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:32 am:

    I do like tomatoes.

    And vaccines.

I like tomatoes and vaccines. Good second half coming.

  15. - PublicServant - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:34 am:

Well, Rauner as governor is history, which was our low point, Covid or not, so the legislator isn’t wrong…and I hope (s)he was wearing a mask when quoted.

  16. - A Guy - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:36 am:

==Looks like Pfizer vaccine is showing some promise==

They’re probably very motivated. 6 foot distancing doesn’t work well for their “other” popular pharmaceutical wonder. lol

  17. - PublicServant - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:37 am:

Hey, what about using McCormick Place for some socially distance overflow education this Fall?

  18. - Keyrock - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:37 am:

NY City will not reopen indoor dining after all.

  19. - Nagidam - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:39 am:

The “Back Nine” is going to start off rather hot this week. Three weeks to baseball.

  20. - Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 9:51 am:

    - Nagidam -

    Correct on all counts.

Minor league ball is canceled in 2020.

I’m trying not to get to jazzed about sports returning. Looking at Clemson football and their 37 cases of Covid-19, how can the Bears, White Sox, or Cubs see the sports fully resume here?

    Then there’s the Illini…

  21. - BW - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:19 am:

    -OW-

This may be the year for the Illini to go undefeated…

  22. - DuPage - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:24 am:

==Looks like Pfizer vaccine is showing some promise==

===They’re probably very motivated. 6 foot distancing doesn’t work well for their “other” popular pharmaceutical wonder. lol===

What “other” are you referring to?

  23. - Dotnonymous - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:30 am:

I believe the only thing better than home grown tomatoes is home grown smoke…Natures bounty.

  24. - Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:36 am:

“I believe the only thing better than home grown tomatoes is home grown smoke…Natures bounty.“

I’m not seeing any seeds for sale yet, for medical homegrown that was legalized last year.

  25. - Dotnonymous - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:40 am:

If you grow your own… you may find you don’t need Pfizers “other” drug.

  26. - @misterjayem - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:43 am:

“I’m not seeing any seeds for sale yet”

We live in an age of miracles — not so long ago, you couldn’t buy a quarter ounce without half its weight being stems and seeds.

    – MrJM

  27. - #5 - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 10:53 am:

John Prine has been named an honorary poet laureate. Watching video of his last recording was heartbreaking.

  28. - On Point - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 11:05 am:

A mask is not a political statement. It’s an IQ test.

    This reality cannot be overstated.

  29. - Dotnonymous - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 11:05 am:

Seeds and clones coming to medical dispensaries soon…I’m told.

The right to universal home grow must rightly be codified into law…Rep.Cassidy?…I’m listening.

  30. - JoanP - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 11:06 am:

Today is the day I went back to the gym - first time since early March.

I wasn’t sure how comfortable I’d be, but decided to give it a try. It was okay. Very few people there at 10:00 a.m., and it was set up for social distancing. You check yourself in and staff takes your temperature. Bring your own towel.

My trainer was extremely careful to wipe down every piece of equipment we used (probably helps that his girlfriend is a nurse).

If things get more crowded or less attention is paid to precautions, I’ll stop going. But for now, I’m okay with it. And heaven knows, I NEED to work out!

  31. - Joe Bidenopolous - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 12:10 pm:

“Only two things that money can’t buy - that’s true love and home grown tomatoes!”

I’m really concerned that we’re just a couple of weeks behind some of the states that are exploding right now. Bars this weekend? Really? Feels like bars and indoor dining should be shuttered as a prophylactic. I fear where we’re headed.

  32. - Original Rambler - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 12:22 pm:

Looked like a lot of unmasked faces at the Bunn vigil in Springfield.

  33. - Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 12:53 pm:

“you couldn’t buy a quarter ounce without half its weight being stems and seeds”

Album covers and rolling paper packs were used as seed removers.

“Seeds and clones coming to medical dispensaries soon…I’m told.

    That is great news.

  34. - A Guy - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 1:40 pm:

==What “other” are you referring to?==

    Viagra, Dupage, Viagra.

  35. - Jibba - Wednesday, Jul 1, 20 @ 8:46 pm:

Too bad about the Feed Store.
