At least 2 times that on Rodney Davis and Betsy Londrigan fliers here at our household. Yesterday was the first day in about a month that we didn’t receive at least one from each
Kudos to Shark Sandwich. What a crock “they” were trying to sell us on not being able to handle mail-in ballots, when they can stuff our box every day with their campaign advertising…
One flyer, a door hanger, a couple days ago from the Chatham FPD asking for a yes vote to increase their tax levy. I voted yes for it when I voted early a few weeks ago. Other than Ives begging me for money (wrong district, wrong party, but it’s Ives, so what did you expect?), that’s all I’ve gotten.
Targeted mailers that convey “my opponent is terrible on [Issue X that is personally important to you]” do a pretty good job of getting people to vote on down-ballot races that they might otherwise skip over.
They serve a slightly different purpose than top of the ballot advertising.

A stamped envelope dropped into your mailbox follows a different path than uniform, bulk pre-sorted shipped from a mailing house.
Apples and oranges both get to the grocery store, but they’re still apples and oranges.
I got a flyer from Chuy Garcia. I was like, why, he would only lose if 90% of the electorate in his district decided not to vote… But he is also reminding us to vote for Durbin, Villanueva (IL state senate) and Sepulveda (MWRD). Also to vote for the Fair Tax.
This cycle for the local races I have received a grand total of 4 mail campaign flyers. 2 against Fair Tax and one for Fair Tax. One for States Attorney Lake County. Nothing for U. S. senate, nothing for 10th congressional district. I’m glad not to be buried in paper as in prior elections but I have to say it’s been kind of weird to be ignored.
No joke, I get at least that many in about two weeks from the Mazzochi-Zordani race; sometimes even multiple mailers for the same candidate in the same day.

A 6th season episode of “Night Court” did just this featuring Dan and his opponent for a NY Assembly seat. The episode was titled “Strange Bedfellows.” Natch.
I get about a dozen e-mails every day from Jaime Harrison. I’ve seen reports that he’s raised $100 million so far. I’ve been tempted to donate $5 just to make the e-mails stop, but I think that would only generate more. I just want it to stop. All of it. Please, God, make it stop.
