Maybe just leave the jabs to others, governor
Wednesday, Dec 9, 2020 - Posted by Rich Miller * If you watch the video, he didn’t actually say she was an anti-vaxxer, but he did demonstrate that she’s living in his head rent-free…
I have my fun with WIND when they get particularly weird, but I’m not the governor of a major state.

Pritzker said Amy Jacobson put out false information, nothing about being an anti-vaxxer.
I don’t really listen to her. Does she always do this?
- Elliott Ness - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 7:25 am:
You are not YET governor….
- Token Conservative - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 7:30 am:
She’s nothing but a troll, but this was below him.
- DownSouth - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 7:48 am:
I didn’t interpret it as Jacobson was an anti vaxxer, but rather a purveyor of misinformation.
Either way - not a great look for Gov. Just ignore that reporter (and I use that term loosely).
Jacobson has turned into the Charlie Brown teacher voice for me “wah, wah, wah”. Unintelligible background noise.
She gets more out there and whiny every day.
Gov should just accept that no matter what he says or does she will give it a ridiculous twist and put her out of his head for good. The rest of us learned pretty quickly to ignore her nonsense.
Calling out reporters in that fashion is a Trumpian move Gov. Please don’t.

=== You are not YET governor….===
Yeah. ‘Bout that
Proft got 7.78% in a primary. The grift is about not owning anything either. Jacobson’s own career is littered with bad decisions… but trolling Gov. Pritzker is good for the grift.
Gov. Pritzker,
You are the governor of the 5th/6th largest state in America. Amy Jacobson has as many listeners that can bring “dozens” to Daley Plaza.
Who cares what she tweets, says, thinks…
Answer her questions crisply, precise, briefly, quickly…. then move on.
Every time you give her this, it’s like she’s credible. She’s not credible, why give her what she craves?
- JS Mill - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 8:27 am:
Meh, I’ll give the governor a pass. It has to feel pretty relentless at times. A small gaff like this is not a big deal, he is a human being.
For people like Jacobson, I started ignoring them a long time ago. The last time I paid any attention to her she was crashing a scooter on camera. They make a big deal out of the extreme to get clicks or listeners. Ignoring what most people do or think. She isn’t alone, but she is the topic here.
- Mad Hatter - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 8:33 am:
Governor likes to be on television, fly around the state playing Governor Happy talker, or excuse me I’m in charge and your not. he has a real problem rolling up his sleeves, solving problems, and running the state.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 8:48 am:
=== fly around the state===
First Pritzker was accused of not leaving Chicago, now it “fly around the state”
If you’re going to be pathetic, be pathetic in ONE lane of silliness.
Thanks.
- Back to the Future - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 8:58 am:
While not as troubling, Team Pritzker’s rants remind me of Trump rants.
I get that Amy Jacobson is wearing on the Governor and his staff, but the Governor needs to move on from personally going after people. It just is not a good look for our state’s chief executive.
- TheInvisibleMan - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 9:13 am:
The replies on that swimming pool reporters twitter thread speak for themselves.
Those are your listeners, Ms. swimming pool reporter.
- ChicagoVinny - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 9:14 am:
Would it be smarter strategy to just ignore Amy Jacobson’s relentless bad faith? Probably.
But I’m inclined to cut the Governor some slack - given how constant her nonsense is, not snapping back shows a lot of discipline.
- Responsa - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 10:12 am:
“Thank you for the question, Amy” (or any other reporter) is the appropriate reply immediately preceding a short and unemotional factual answer, JB. Practice it around the house if you need to. This isn’t that hard.
- Louis G Atsaves - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 10:14 am:
All he needs to do is answer her questions to the best of his ability. Every time he gets snarky he gets into trouble. The best example of snarkiness is when he ripped into a couple of Republicans yesterday for ignoring mitigations but pulled his punches a bit for the Democratic Alderman who owns a restaurant that allowed indoor dining on the sneak.
You are Governor of Illinois Mr. Pritzker. Not just the Governor of the Democrats of Illinois. Rise about it and save yourself some unnecessary grief.
- dbk - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 10:20 am:
Not sure she lives rent-free all the time in his head, but yesterday’s zinger was probably lingering at least short-term:

That was seriously, seriously wrong.

The ole adage of punching up vs. punching down comes to mind.

For you oldsters out there:
Amy kind of reminds me of 1970’s & 80’s WICS-TV reporter Kelly Smith who used to conjure up every type of conspiracy theory question. I really think Jim Thompson loved to get them and then swat them down just as fast….

If Kelly Smith was still on Channel 20 today she would feel at home with how Sinclair runs the show at their station.
- don the legend - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 4:06 pm:
Chatham Resident, when did Kelly Smith undergo a sex change operation? Kelly is male.
- Chatham Resident - Wednesday, Dec 9, 20 @ 5:35 pm:
Sorry, Kelly Smith on 20 was before my time (I was kid growing up on the border of the Peoria and Quad Cities TV markets at that time).
I just was saying he would be at home with his “gotcha” journalism today with Sinclair running the show on 20–and further running the station’s reputation into the ground.
