The McCaskeys own a “mom and pop” lil shop that is a billion dollar cash machine.
To own an NFL franchise only means to be mediocre enough to sell tickets to fanatics, the full name for those like me… fans.
The Cubs are a cash cow play thing for the Ricketts, the list of Chicago owners follow these paths of rationale.
The Bears? Well, 7-9, 8-8, 9-7 teams are the worst teams in the NFL. Good enough to beat “bad” teams, lose the rest to “good” teams, get middle draft picks to repeat the cycle (middle of the pack talent too)
That’s the Chicago Football franchise, the McCaskeys are fine with that existence.

Will Nagy be fired today, or will the Bears’ December “comeback” and playoff “appearance” save his job for another year? (Albeit he will be on the hottest of hot seats for next year–i.e., improve from this year or else).
- Joe Bidenopolous - Monday, Jan 11, 21 @ 9:00 am:
So second city cop was apparently de-platformed. That’s a shame…
Nagy will be back because he has a year left on his contract, that is the only reason. That being said I am glad their season is over so I do not have to witness that incompetence again until next season.
To Bears fans; Hey, at least we’re not the Jets. But what a bad game to watch. The over-celebrating tackles while losing badly to a Saints team that didn’t even seem to be playing up to their record. Obviously the Bears need something, but I’m left wonder if firing anybody is the answer anymore. Maybe the Bears uniform is like Kryptonite to skills.
Is yesterday’s performance by Mitch worth an extension of 5 (to 7) million? For that money, I would just as soon grab a dissatisfied Deshaun Watson or a Taylor Heinicke/Steven Montez two-fer.

What does a family tragedy have to do with a political narrative? Do you really think the Buckner family wants to be the subject of a post here? They need comfort, not commenters.
“To own an NFL franchise only means to be mediocre enough to sell tickets” That’s been the Lions’ M.O. since way longer than the Bears, so there’s that.
“How come you still haven’t talked about the tragic story of Dylan Buckner? Or does is not fit your political narrative?”
A top student athlete died in an apparent suicide after his family said the teen’s struggle with depression worsened significantly during the coronavirus pandemic.
More people should have taken the virus seriously, stayed home, worn their masks, socially distanced and the virus could have been contained in this country, like it has been successfully contained in other countries, and perhaps this tragedy could have been avoided.
Our nation desperately needs universal health care and the destigmatization of mental illness.

That also sounds like the entire NFC East’s M.O. the last several seasons.
A noted anti-masker collapsed yesterday on the floor of the make-do house chamber and one of his colleagues explained that this noted anti-masker had been experiencing known symptoms of COVID-19, though those symptoms were not described as such.
None of the press coverage and none of the reactions from other elected officials were anything but concern, and I didn’t see a media source take the time to point out that he was suffering known COVID-19 symptoms.
That’s probably the best we’re going to get. Demanding that “name calling must cease” is sort of a silly premise given today’s political environment, and ceasing name calling doesn’t make the Illinois GOP Nazi problem go away, it just makes it harder to accurately describe and easier for the GOP to continue to fail to address the front for seditious terrorism that they’ve become.

At least we can hope and root for the Rams to pull off another upset–this time against the Pack at Lambeau–Saturday afternoon.
I’m not sure what you’re trying to insinuate regarding Dylan Buckner. It’s sad enough that a young person feels he needs to take his own life, but I didn’t realize that teen suicide was a political issue. With respect, perhaps don’t try to make it one.
here, here MJM…a mental health care tsunami is building and will overwhelm the health care system…I am especially concerned about young people…God help us…

Pritzker ran on expanding health insurance. That should be a major focus of the remainder of his term, especially in that he will have a much more favorable national government.
Also, home delivery for cannabis should be enacted, like it is in Nevada, where medical delivery is allowed and adult-use is as well, but only during the pandemic. Who thinks of the venerable old head?
If Pritzker is watching this LaSalle Veterans Home Hearing happening now and doesn’t fire Chapa LaVia before the hearing is over, I will be absolutely amazed.
The score was 21-9. Hardly a blowout. The Kmet penalty was questionable at best. Instead of a FG they get a TD—4 points. Kick the PAT at the end—1 point. Wims catches the ball—TD and with PAT we are at 21. 3 plays with a beat up roster. Grew up in Chicago and love the Bears but I think Trubisky gets a 2 year offer to stay and doubt they fire Nagy.
CANDY, I have always been known as the uncle that steps in and settles disputes. We understand these Anti-maskers are on the wrong side of history.

That mess is devoid of discipline.

As long as we’re playing what abouts-
The NFL doesn’t make the Wildcard Weekend a bigger joke by adding a 7th team, the Bears aren’t in.
If Nagy stays, any Bear fan that spends money on a ticket next year is a sucker.
