Seems a bit early……unless your really worried.
- Responsa - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:17 am:
I don’t care who it is or who is paying for it. Politicians thanking themselves is not a good look. Kinzinger thanked himself. Underwood thanked herself. Just NO.
- Watcher of the Skies - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:26 am:
Underwood did not “thank herself.” It’s right there in Rich’s text, and it’s really not much to read. It’s an outside group. It would literally be illegal for Underwood to have anything to do with this.
@Blue Dog - It’s unlikely Underwood will be in a competitive district after the re-map.
- Blue Dog - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:36 am:
Do we know for certain if we’re only losing one seat?
- PublicServant - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:37 am:
This is part of the messaging to spread the word far and wide that the Democrats are getting things done to help Americans suffering the worst effects of the pandemic.
Meanwhile the Republicans are talking about Dr. Seuss.
- SWIL_Voter - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:42 am:
Dems have to do this kind of stuff because local media is all astroturfed right wing propaganda and the national media just chases whatever culture war outrage of the day Republicans are screaming about
- Grandson of Man - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:44 am:
Rated A for several reasons. Underwood “put politics aside” as the spot says, but Republican legislators couldn’t. Most people support the stimulus, including many Republicans. The message is simple and specific to her district. It’s good to see a Democrat play offense and lead on the narrative. More need to do it.

“Seems a bit early”
Or the House Democrats are finally realizing that messaging is a full-time job and can’t be put off until election season.
- Fav Human - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:56 am:
So, does this mean someone is worried she WONT be in a safe district? I mean, it’s REALLY early.
And I wonder about the effectiveness of cable as more and more cut the cord.
- Fav Human - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 11:57 am:
A nice puff piece, hard to wrong with it.
- Oswego Willy - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 12:02 pm:
It should be noted it’s not Underwood running the spots… it’s the PAC.
This idea Underwood is scared is ignoring it’s not Underwood herself making this choice.
Anytime you can tout a partisan win that 75% of Americans support, you do it. Victory lap, worry, education, the bottom line is Trumpkins when faced with a popular bill that will impact actual voters, they were Red. It keeps things fresh as checks are finding they’re way into accounts.
Rate?
It’s a “B”
I remember it happened, I forgot already all that was in it.
I remember Underwood supported relief, it reminds me Trumpkins did not.
For that, it’s “ok”
Higher than the “C”, but not in any “A” range of genius
- Pundent - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 12:49 pm:
It’s a solid ad. A “B” for being straightforward but not particularly memorable. But perhaps more important than the quality or it’s lacking is that it’s a reminder of what government can actually accomplish. We seem to have lost sight of that. And in some districts we have candidates who sole purpose appears to be doing nothing almost as a means of protest.
- Blue Dog - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 1:03 pm:
I have been reading thru much of this bill. Thus far I can find about $500 billion in what I deem as unnecessary . But heck, what’s a few hundred billion amongst friends….but I wish more than anything that all that money would have stayed here in the U.S.
- Kanecounty - Wednesday, Mar 17, 21 @ 1:37 pm:
Its okay! more like a C rating and I live in her district. Nothing to memorable just a typical message/reminder ad.
