Zooming in… …Adding… From a reader…
Click here for his House vote and click here for his Senate vote. *** UPDATE *** It’s kinda tough to see, but here is Sen. Bailey voting remotely during floor action yesterday. If you go to the 1:00:40 mark of the BlueRoomstream video, you can hear what sounds like helicopter noise in the background… The Senate definitely needs a rules change. No way was remote voting intended to be used this way.

To change Illinois it will take some out of the box thinking. Not a fan of Bailey and his COVID politics, but I do like the new combination of people here. Good to see.

Bailey is going to spend the next half a year getting a picture with every priest and pastor in every corner of the state he can find. Not sure if that’s anything “new” for him.
- @misterjayem - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 10:20 am:
Only way I’d ever be photographed with Bailey is if I were wearing a mask.

I wonder if the Rural King folks realize their employee, with badge, is being included in campaign photos. Not surprising, heck it’s probably their helicopter and pilot, but maybe not something they want out there. Or maybe they do, who knows.

This is my buddy Dr. Willy, from the soon-to-be state of Chicago. Don’t mind the mask; doctor’s orders and such.

Any idea where a “hard working Illinoisan” could get some of that 2+ million in farm subsidies?

I would do anything for publicity, but I won’t do that.

Bailey done got him a constituency.

What are the rules on conducting official business while campaigning/using political funds? I honestly don’t know, but if it’s not any violation, it’s at minimum violating the spirit of those ethics regulations. I’m guessing that chopper is likely donated or paid for by/for the campaign, no?
- Jocko - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 11:28 am:
Bailey appears to have misunderstood when the pastors cried “God help us if this guy is elected governor.”
- Bruce( no not him) - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 11:29 am:
Seems like a rather large loophole in the remote voting rules. “Why should I show up, I’m just gonna campaign and vote from my chopper”

Bailey, when attending, was willing to be a hindrance to health, now Bailey is a disgrace to representative democracy.
This is nauseating

Darren Bailey was outside of the House of Hope on the south side? This shouldn’t surprise me that much and yet it does…

Talk about blurring the line between state work and campaign work.

Helicoptering in to the South Side wearing ostrich skin boots is an interesting look for this guy. Makes Rauner’s road trip there in his trashcan van seem quaint.

Bailey is surprised so many folks want to help him win the GOP primary.

Willie Wilson and Anyone Promising To Cut Willie Wilson’s Taxes is not a new combination. In the past, that second role has been played by Bruce Rauner, Donald Trump, and Willie Wilson.

On the one hand: voting from a helicopter is cool as hell.
But on the other, much bigger hand: It’s hard to see how this is appreciably different from what got Skillicorn in trouble a year or so ago?
- Huh? - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 1:34 pm:
Helicopter parenting taken to the extreme.
- Rudy’s teeth - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 1:44 pm:
Finally, some diversity from Bailey’s meet and greet. Next time, Darren, forget the helicopter and drive the big ‘ole campaign bus to the South Side.
Or better yet, take the Red Line. Be sure to stop at Manny’s for the corned beef.
- SAP - Tuesday, May 25, 21 @ 3:04 pm:
Seems like the remote voting rules need a clarification that when voting remotely, you are considered to be on State property for purposes of the Ethics Act.

Ah, yes, but Bailey is running a holy campaign, so I’m sure it must be ok. /s/
