    I expect change

  2. - reddevil1 - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:20 am:

it amazes me, that there are people still that want to deny science and facts and if the political party that they support was fully behind the vaccine …they would fully support it.

  3. - Banish Misfortune - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:25 am:

    How about ten pennies.

  4. - Flyin' Elvis'-Utah Chapter - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:26 am:

    You’re overpaying.

  5. - Southsider - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:29 am:

Any discussion of a bailout for Prairie State and others? Seems that $400 million is owed. ComEd is in-line for state money as part of a clean energy deal…why not municipal utilities?

    ===Penny for your thoughts?===

Is this some sort of new get rich quick scheme on the internet?

  7. - Fav Human - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:33 am:

It worked for one person. Of course he asked for a dollar.

It seems our host is playing the long game … :)

  8. - a drop in - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:34 am:

If the penny sticks to your vaccinated forehead you have a very valuable 1943 steel penny.

  9. - Cheryl44 - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:34 am:

I got up to experience the eclipse. There was too much fog on the lake to see much, but there was a point right after dawn where the streetlights turned back on for a couple of minutes.

  10. - Fav Human - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:36 am:

I do have one. And it didn’t stick :(

Must not work if you got Moderna.

  11. - Bruce( no not him) - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:39 am:

If a penny sticks to your forehead, you should wash your face.

  12. - thisjustinagain - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:42 am:

All this talk of pennies….”Penny Lane, the barber shaves another customer; we see the banker sitting waiting for the tram. Then the fireman rushes in from the pouring rain; very strange” - The Beatles

  13. - Arsenal - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:44 am:

There’s so much special pleading to try to dismiss good fiscal news for the state. It really makes clear that most of the people who have spent most of my life complaining about IL finances were just grifting.

  14. - Blue Dog - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:45 am:

Still waiting to hear from Bailey if he took PPP money. Simple yes or no.

  15. - Amalia - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 9:45 am:

well at least we’re not commenting for free.

  16. - RNUG - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 10:33 am:

== It really makes clear that most of the people who have spent most of my life complaining about IL finances were just grifting. ==

So they could profit from it

    Kass *moved* to Chicago.

It’s about the grift. It’s about the dollars to find the marks, to fool true believers.

    Yep.

  18. - OneMan - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 10:40 am:

The people who seem truly scared of Critical Race Theory and the 1619 project in schools seem well, really scared.

Like 80s Timmy is listening to Twisted Sister and playing Dungeons and Dragons scared.

Looking forward to stories of parents tearing their kid’s room apart looking for a hidden stash of educational materials about race in America.

  19. - DuPage Saint - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 10:49 am:

Old DJ and TV person Roe Conn hired by Sheriff Tom Dart to work on anti car jacking. I guess because Conn knows all about cars from hosting auto shows. Dart must have more old tv radio and print reporters or their relatives working for him than any other office holder in the country. Talk about buying good P R. It is soft corruption

  20. - Skeptic - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 11:11 am:

“If the penny sticks to your vaccinated forehead” I know they’re science deniers and all that, but have you ever tried to stick a magnet (even a strong one) to stainless steel?

  21. - EssentialStateEmployeeFromChatham - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 11:53 am:

==I guess because Conn knows all about cars from hosting auto shows.==

Not only that, but also maybe because of all of those 1-877-CARS4KIDS ads that were (and maybe still are) on ad nauseum on WLS over the years. After hearing it once those spots get annoying, despite the charitable effort–and last I listened to WLS they sometimes ran Cars 4 Kids several times in an hour. Or so it seemed.

  22. - Blue Dog - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 12:58 pm:

My son sent me a picture of a bear caught on camera in Monroe county.

  23. - Jo Jo Monkeyboy - Thursday, Jun 10, 21 @ 4:05 pm:

Looking forward to the Cubs v Sox games. Let’s hope for no fisticuffs, brouhahas, or dustups. Just good clean baseball.
