Former Governor Rauner closed his campaign account yesterday three years after leaving office. True to form, the committee wound things down with a bunch of debt and unaccounted for expenditures. pic.twitter.com/1uVsuchLXZ
For the Rauner true believers, is this how you thought it would end? Is this the out migration everyone is talking about? Spoiled and entitled ultra rich run away when the going gets tough.
I can’t wait till 20 years from now when we find out the 4 years of the Rauner administration was just a really involved effort by Bruce Rauner to try to win a $1 bet.
Does anyone know if he still has the 1993 Volkswagen Eurovan registered in his name, and if so — in which state?

Rauner is in the right place now. The GOP is cooking up bills to ban making whites uncomfortable about racism and mandatory playing of the national anthem at events. Trumpism and right wing economic ideology from the likes of Rauner and Griffin go hand in hand.
Did his staff ever uncover the state offices without computers…that might have been his best. Kinda boring now without his governin and the SOI now paying it’s bills.
I don’t believe many people were “duped” by candidate Rauner. Republicans in the primary just wanted a guy who they thought could win and give them some voice at the state level. General election? The 2014 choices were awful. Holding your nose to vote for a guy who later sucked isn’t getting duped. It was just the most likely outcome all along.
the Raunman was a failure on my fronts. IMO he did little to control the trend In violent crime. his successor has continued in being ineffective in this arena.

“So that would be like… what? 0.1% of the campaign spending?”
So that would be like… what? 100% his campaign’s unpaid obligation to the individuals and employers to whom Rauner owes the $39,625?
That amount might be nothing to Bruce Rauner real money to those on the other side of the balance sheet.
If one takes a moment to stop thinking like a temporarily embarrassed millionaire and consider the people who work for a living, the significance of that sum is readily apparent.
