The situation in the 56th Senate District is pretty interesting. Hoping to see some deeper analysis there. Will voters re-elect a Dem incumbent who is likely to leave the job to become U.S. Attorney? In an area that has been trending GOP?
Near frost temperatures overnight, something we can do without until maybe October. At least it’s sunny.

Alderperson Brian Hopkins was on the news this morning complaining about 500 youths that were downtown creating mayhem at millennium park. Would love to know what he’s doing to help set up programs for these kids.
I attended several meetings where Brian Hopkins assured us that the Lincoln Yards billion-dollar boondoggle would solve all of the city’s problems — from youthful mayhem to traffic congestion to shoddy haircuts.
Down to about 50% on mask-wearing on Metra. Took the Blue Line on Monday and it was about the same there (the train wasn’t crowded) one advantage of mask-wearing for my Blue Line trip was someone had been enjoying a now legal product and the mask helped with the smell.
Pritzker talking about the teacher shortage? Their pensions were cut drastically (to Tier2). Fix that, Governor, and the shortage of teachers will be reduced.
Since when do we blame a lack of programs for young people (actually not true, parks and libraries all over the city) for people jumping on cars, breaking windows, fighting? no one blames kids for congregating but it seems some have to get violent. This is not just happening downtown, but in neighborhoods. Parents?

She’s unopposed in the primary and November is a loooong way away. Don’t get ahead of yourself.

So there is a movement to name General Grant as general of the armies.

Seems like this is something the Illinois congressional delegation could get behind.
