A solid “B+”… this is how abortion will make a real difference in Illinois… as Bailey can’t explain himself…
… if Bailey could, Bailey would already be running ads discussing he’s pro-life, no exceptions, as Pritzker is also reminding… and Bailey ain’t thanking… for those ads too
It’s a solid ad and a solid campaign, two pronged in its education… and the monies needed to sustain are readily available via EFT.
It’s a building to a crescendo, building a case, tgus ad helps in both.
B. the issue is actually an all women issue because even the richest woman cannot get to a doctor quickly enough for an abortion if she is pregnant, in medical need, and in a place where abortion is not legal. it is literally dangerous for women of all means. the stories are terrifying. women who have plenty of money need to get this.
What I think is more important is that the Pritzker people are rotating these ads out. Just when one starts to get stale, another takes its place, so it catches more eyes (or the same eyes over again). Campaign 101, if you have the money, and he does.
I completely agree with the message, but if the policies advanced by persons like Darren Bailey are so insidious and dangerous, why did J.B. Pritzker invest tens of millions of dollars into normalizing and spreading that message? Obviously I am not going to vote for Bailey, but I wish Pritzker had fought against anti-abortion policies rather than shifted the Overton window in their favor.

There was no Republican advocating for anything else. Sullivan was all “onward Christian soldiers” and Irvin made clear that he was too gutless to stand up to guys like Bailey on the issue (if he ever even disagreed with them, which he never indicated that he did). There wasn’t a dime’s worth of difference between any of them on this issue, so Pritzker singled out Bailey, got working on him early, and called him extreme. Turns out that Republicans wanted extremism.
And now they’re gonna get it, good and hard.

Why are we pretending that Darren Bailey’s “policies” are not within the republican mainstream? They absolutely are at this point. Look around the country, Bailey is your bog standard republican candidate. Stop trying to conjure some imaginary reasonable republican party that respects women and democracy into being.
===I wish Pritzker had fought against anti-abortion policies===
Huh? What?
According to Pritzker’s own history (also highlighted in his ads) he has fought for abortion rights for decades, receipts included.

The Pritzker campaign has been neglecting the abortion issue and needs to start paying attention. /s
Rated A
It’s a huge issue. Opponents had been fighting for decades to overturn Roe v. Wade (for anyone thinking Pritzker may be overdoing it). This SCOTUS ruling has fragmented our country into states, where a woman’s right to her body is recognized and protected in one state but not in another. Illinois should stand out as a beacon of rights in a regressive sea of red neighbor states.
To the ad: Pro choice women in Illinois have demonstrated time and again that they’re a force to be reckoned with. Pritzker is wise to make it absolutely clear he’s on their side.
The ad helps tremendously with City and suburban women….a key voting block. The women were about to perhaps move back to the GOP over rampant crime but this keeps them in the Democrats fold. Important ad for JB.
Dog whistle to get the ” poor” people riled up in hopes of creating anger among them and hopefully turn out on masses to vote. Sad thing is jb don’t need to campaign or run one commercial, re election a lock for him
A-
It was a solid B up until they put up the map and then it shifted to A territory.
I’ve been hearing for decades what a horrible place Illinois is, but that map will make many pro-choice people realize how strong we are when it comes to women’s rights.

I’d give it a B. The map at the end of the ad is effective.

Good ad seeking to highlight the major hot button issue for his base and many independent voters.

I know this is nitpicking because that map properly conveys a powerful message but I wish it was not showing abortion states as democrat blue.
