There have been some pretty good concerts lately. Al Di Meola is doing a gig in Chicago today. Michael Schenker (formerly of UFO) is coming next month. Lots of old timers still doing it, like Robby Krieger and Willie Nelson who were just here.
The White Sox have played awfully the entire season and wake up today just 1.5 games out of first place. I still think they will regret all those games they lost to Kansas City, but for now hope springs eternal.
Last night’s game was fun to watch. But they don’t need 14 runs when Cease is pitching. That’s for the games involving Giolito or Kopech.
Also reading the article about the Bears in Arlington Heights, noticed Walker’s name as it is in his district. Feel good knowing that his guiding hand is involved. Maybe, someday, a CapFax party at the Stadium.
That is JY’s hallmark. DeYoung’s too. Still a shame they parted ways. I did get to see the Return to Paradise tour at the Rosemont in ‘97. John was gone by then though.
Piece in the WSJ just out that Iowa, Mississippi, Georgia, Idaho and Arizona are dropping the graduated income tax and are now moving to a flat tax. Ten states including Illinois have a flat tax now, and nine states have zero income tax. That leaves 26 with a graduated tax.

Saw Styx this week.
It was FUN.
Did not have high expectations going in. Sound was excellent. Pretty darn high level of showmanship.

Same. What remains of my hearing sounded good and the overall energy was great.

Hopefully the surviving LaRouchies from 1986 will find the dignity to pay their respects to Queen Elizabeth II after her passing yesterday.

I had no idea QEII had visited Chicago until seeing an article about it yesterday.

stayed up watching the Sox hit parade. I’m certain they will break my heart with the division but last night sure was fun.

Oddly enough, yesterday would have been ol Lyndon’s 100th birthday.

I do hope someone in authority addresses this whole trespassing thing from SAFE-T Act soon, and explains it to law enforcement. It’s growing legs.

Rough loss in game 5 of the semi-finals last night for the Sky. Was going fairly well until the last 4 minutes when the train went off the rails.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the 3 main stars of the team all retire this off season.

+1. There’s virtually no counter PR to the “every thing is legal starting January” posturing

To day and tomorrow look good for a hot air balloon festival in this little bucolic spot in West Central Illinois. Up, up and away.

They do have an element of “Henny Penny - The Sky is Falling” amongst them. Remember this hoary old chestnut?
