Anyone else having trouble finding new covid booster? My local clinic doesn’t know when they will get it. Said I should go to Wisconsin.

very old soul, check this facebook group for help locating vaccines https://www.facebook.com/groups/1864372350383607

very old soil @ 9:00: No. I got it three weeks ago from my local Mariano’s. Not sure where you are, but if Mariano’s is in your area, you might try them.

Very Old soil -I got my Bivalent booster at Walmart 3 weeks ago.

I got mine at the Sangamon County Health Department’s main building on the east side of Springfield (near JCPenney), earlier this week.

However, I checked their website again while preparing this reply and it said, “All appointment types are private, none are available for scheduling.” So if in Sangamon County I would call the health department.

Apparently, in a meeting with the editorial board at the Trib, Bailey said he considers all parts of Illinois to be his family but Chicago is like an unruly child. I can’t wait to hear what biblical parenting techniques he has planned for one-fifth of the state population. Will he spare the rod and spoil the child?

  8. - Amalia - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 9:34 am:

check on the CVS website. I know folks who traveled downstate when the vaccines were first available so travel upstate or downstate as you can find an appointment.

    Patience, please.

    ==spare the rod==

If only that phrase was shouted down vociferously from the mountaintops 20 years ago this fall. And spared us the six-year nightmare that followed.

  11. - Future - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 9:48 am:

Pearson story on Bailey is comical. Wonder if his editors made him put in graph at end about JB not even showing up. Lol.

  12. - very old soil - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 10:04 am:

Thanks to all who have made suggestions. Wisconsin is actually a lot closer to me.

  13. - AcademicUnionStateEmployee - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 10:16 am:

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but when it’s way too late the Cubs have become the hottest team in baseball. They are now playing spoiler in the wild card race, sweeping the Phils.

Meanwhile, win or lose the Sox will actually play a factor in the NL WC race this weekend, as they have the weekend interleague Padres series.

  14. - Day Late - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 10:30 am:

If Hastings wins (which he probably will because leadership waited too long to speak out against him), will Harmon remove committee assignments and his ability to caucus with the Dems from him in the next GA or will he allow him to continue his awful behavior in the Senate? Please change the culture.

  15. - Dotnonymous - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 10:33 am:

It’s almost harvest time…had to use bamboo stakes to hold my colas…looking for amber.

  16. - Cool Papa Bell - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 11:25 am:

    @- AcademicUnionStateEmployee

Its a bug in the system. If you click off a google search for the booster at the SCHD you get that private message. But when you go to the front page of the website - then click on the COVID vaccination link you are able to make an appointment. Just scheduled 4 - but not until Oct 27.

  17. - AcademicUnionStateEmployee - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 11:29 am:

Speaking of the Sox, stop the presses, it’s true, they actually won last night:

Very Old Soul…got my Moderna boost yesterday at CVS Mundelein. Schedule d two days ago. Walgreen appt are weeks out and I guess people are waiting for 45 minutes or so because they are short staffed. My husband has scheduled a Pfizer in walgreen North Libertyville for Monday. Again no problem when he scheduled.

    Might be closer than Wisconsin

  19. - Cool Papa Bell - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 11:38 am:

    Quick follow up:

I just checked CVS in Springfield and I could get a shot today if I wanted. So keep looking around in some parts of the state it looks like there is plenty of inventory of jabs.

I’m reminded of when the first shots came out and my 79 year old dad snagged an early one and wound up sitting in a line in his car for 8 hours to get shot. We’ve come a long way since then.

  20. - Old time Independent - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 11:47 am:

Good read in Crains today about Sean Morrison getting $200,000 from a Pack he claims to know nothing about. Who takes money from someone you don’t know? It could be a pack that supports everything a candidate stands against. Also when asked if he was going to share the money with other candidates he said NO I’m using it all myself.
Now that’s a great way to build the Cook County GOP. The guy got almost $1.8 million in PPP forgiven but won’t help candidates he recruited to run.
    Great leadership huh ???

=== Who takes money from someone you don’t know? ===

Eh. Sometimes its better not to know. Lol. Campaign funds can be hard to come by for County Commissioner races.

  22. - AcademicUnionStateEmployee - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 2:21 pm:

25 to 50 years ago this would have been blasphemy to say this, but I think this weekend the Milwaukee Brewers are going to be among the biggest Sox fans out there.

  23. - AcademicUnionStateEmployee - Friday, Sep 30, 22 @ 3:16 pm:

An Athens High School science teacher is going to be on “Jeopardy” today.

Gov. Pritzker led off the Madison County Dems JFK Dinner last night. I was in attendance.

    He gave an A+ speech.
