Haha there’s dozens of us, we’ll need to organize some kind of compliment secret santa.

I’m a very infrequent poster, but wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and opinions. It’s a great alternative to the vitriol and hatred on other sites. Keep on being you, Capitol Fax posters!
- Gruntled University Employee - Wednesday, Oct 19, 22 @ 8:56 am:
The commenters on this blog are, for the most part, the most thoughtful, informative and (because of Rich’s diligent oversight) respectful in the industry. I look forward to this blog to keep me informed and thinking from more than one (my) perspective. Thank you all.

Last day of my quarantine.
At least I had beautiful foliage to look at these past five days.
The way folks here share such incredible knowledge and institutional knowledge to both policy and politics, you all have taught me so much, and how to look at things far different than I’d likely considered in the past, and that you all share your knowledge so selflessly instead of keeping that knowledge to yourselves.
Plus, y’all have the best humor, gallows humor, flat out funny takes. Well rounded thoughts are found here, I’m better for all of you sharing your gifts.
I’ll say although we have argued I’ve never felt it was argumentative to a disagreeable end, you have made me think every time to where I can learn from what you’ve conveyed, and I appreciate all of that, a great example why this place e is so special. You’re very kind, and have a sneaky funny too.
On days when I feel like I’m drowning in vitriol IRL, I can come here for a positive dose of information and respectful debate. Thanks to all and especially Rich and now also Isabel (who is definitely crushing it [banned punctuation]).
Comments here seem to never get particularly vitriolic, so it’s a breath of fresh air from social media like Facebook and Twitter. I appreciate having all of you here to figure out the future of Illinois together!
- FormerParatrooper - Wednesday, Oct 19, 22 @ 9:24 am:
I find that the majority of posters here are very insightful. There is a lot I have learned and will still learn here about State politics.
Keep up the good work all involved.
- Give Me A Break - Wednesday, Oct 19, 22 @ 9:55 am:
Enjoy reading everyone. Rich could give lessons on how to keep a forum on track and without the hate.
Lucky Pierre, I appreciate the fact that you keep on showing up, especially knowing you are unlikely to be well received, and unlikely to be treated with dignity. God Bless you, and God Bless America.
This is — literally — the only website where I actually read the comments. I appreciate all of you who contribute insight and knowledge into the political sphere. Yes it does get tense sometimes, but life does also. I have learned so much from the time I spend on CapFax, and I do tend to post my own version of snarky takes but always try to learn something. And as a native of the 618 who left for 30+ years and have returned, I try to share insight into the political and cultural thoughts down here from my perspective.
I’m so glad that “this is not Facebook” [banned punctuation].
The regular commenters are uniformly civil and well-informed. It’s rare that a discussion degenerates into name-calling, and trolls are quickly stomped on.
Isabel has been a brilliant addition to the site.

As great as all of you are and I mean that sincerely, isn’t it amazing how obvious it is that Wordslinger was and remains the GOAT.

I am grateful for each contributor to the comments on this GOAT political blog. And to Rich for the very best info on all things Illinois politics.

I wonder if in Heaven he has already met many times with Blago’s parents and grandparents, and told them “Thank you for raising and inspiring a noble citizen who cared about the people.”
My Cap Fax fix is a daily treat. I’m a little out of my league on this blog but I’ve learned so much from all of the comments, even LP, bless his heart. Isabel is part of a bright future. Thank you all for sharing your thoughts and ideas.
Bill confided to me once that it was all a bit. Sure, he liked Rod. His union backed the guy. But what he absolutely and truly loved was riling up all of y’all. He thought it was hilarious.
