As your “name” seemingly touts a family and influence long gone in Cellini, looking back as the thought to the negative as we are days into a new term of a re-elected governor…
… the want to feel a victimhood of something isn’t how growth is achieved, and tamping down on the good that may lay ahead is what the helplessly gloomy embrace.
For me, in “Illinois-Centric”, tonight I’m heading into the city for a nice dinner, later beverages, and I’ll stay in town and have breakfast at a diner, on a Saturday morning, and even though the days of getting a newspaper to peruse while consuming my “blue plate special” with coffee are over, I’ll use a phone to do that reading, it just won’t be as romantic to, say… looking back 20 years to a time now long gone.
Go explore the state this weekend, even your own towns or the “big city”. We have a great state, enjoy the now and our tomorrows.
Does anybody know why Dan Rutherford is inviting me to go to Cuba? Is that his gig now?

Think I’ll go shop the MLK Day sales. Yes, it has, unsurprisingly, been commercialized from the Day of Service. (And, no, not really doing any shopping.)
In other news, nervous for folks who work at State Farm these days. They had terrible losses last year and just announced plans to outsource all IT work to a new India-based company. Hope B-N’s economy can weather State Farm losing its dominance in the insurance world.

Apparently you didn’t work in a state agency, including the constitutionals, any time from 2003-2019 during Blago, Quinn, and Rauner. Always feeling like your job was at risk every day.
===why Dan Rutherford is inviting me to go to Cuba?===
He’s been doing those trips for years. Five or six years ago, I talked to him about the feasibility of a baseball trip. We never did get together on a plan, tho.

Also for many, puffing on cigarettes while doing those things.
“We have a great state”
So many great places in this state, top to bottom. Chicago does great with tourism.

Our 16-year statewide gubernatorial nightmare began 20 years ago today at noon. Especially if you are or were a state employee.

You are utterly clueless to my own history or experiences.
I know yours as you lament about them with every attempt to make it about you.

Wonderful weather has been had this month and is expected for the MLK weekend—compared to other winter weather, or the terrible storms down south.

I like the ad for the credit unions. They do so much good that I wish the word would get out more and their usage increased.

I wonder if at least one of those trips included a special appearance by George Ryan.
