At halftime, I was thinking, “I just told the CapFax folks to watch WIU this weekend, and they are playing like this?”

Then, the second half. Erased a 19 point deficit, took it to overtime, and won. These kids are special this year. Go Western.

  2. - Steve Rogers - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 9:08 am:

I happen to be a Bengals fan. I generally try not to complain about officiating because I believe that bad calls usually even out. But this game against KC and last year’s Super Bowl against the Rams, I’m wondering if Goodell just doesn’t like Cincinnati.

    Half /s but half serious…

  3. - Old time Independent - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 9:09 am:

So Pritzker does what no other Governor has ever done and passes a law ( Madigans Help ) and reconstitutes the Tollway board. He forces Schillestrom out replaces him with ( Peoples Gas ) former President Will Evans who was a disaster and a embarrassment. Finds a highly talented non political Latina Dorothy Abreau and now the day Christian Mitchell leaving is announced they force Abreau out.
When is this administration going to be held accountable for constantly interfering with the Tollway? This will now be Pritzker 4th bite at the apple.

I feel you. I thougt they were acceptable calls, but I figured y’all were losing your minds during that game.

Born and raised Chiefs fan. I had doubts about Mahomes ankle going into this game. No doubt his performance was good, but going up against the Eagles, that is going to be rough. Some bad officiating in both games, but we know that is going to be the norm.

  6. - Steve Rogers - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 9:13 am:

Glad to hear about WIU H-W. Thanks for keeping us informed.

I went to the SIU-ISU game yesterday expecting a Saluki win, but when ISU can’t miss threes and SIU can’t make free throws, it’s probably not going to be a good outcome.

Also, you gotta wonder if some enterprising political consultant tries to convince KC players to fund a recall effort (or reelection opponent) against Cincinnati’s mayor. Money in the bank.

    Apparently my comment blanked out….

Rich, do you think they would bring Jerry Springer out for Mayor again? /s

    Ugh. Pain.

  11. - Back to the Future - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 9:56 am:

We had a good basketball game in Chicago as the Bradley Braves and UIC Flames played at the UIC arena. The UIC Arena is a very good facility to see a basketball game.
UIC beat the spread and won the second half. BU fans were proud and loud, but UIC hung in the game and made the Braves work hard for the win.
Thinking the UIC move to the Missouri Valley is a great move and expecting the BU vs. UIC games will be good for both schools.

  12. - Amalia - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 10:09 am:

wow, Bobby Hull, RIP. such good memories of Bobby and Stan Mikita. Skate on….

    – I went to the SIU-ISU game yesterday –

Steve, I was there, too. Ugh.

  14. - Lurker - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 10:25 am:

    @Steve Rogers
I had no rooting interest in the game, but by halftime I said aloud, I think the NFL hates the Bengals. And I was thinking of this game and last years SB. I feel bad for you guys but they are a fun team to watch.
And that last hit was a heartbreaker. I was ready for some OT.

  15. - Grandson of Man - Monday, Jan 30, 23 @ 11:08 am:

Was watching NFL playoffs yesterday and fantasizing about how good the Bears could be if they get a good offensive line, defense, field goal kicker, etc. Such a long way to go, seemingly, but would love to see what Fields can do if he gets adequate protection.

Happiest person in the state today - Anne Capara.. Just saying :)
