Snoop Dogg at the state fair again. Convicted felon. Hmmm.

Just saw 78-year-old Sen. Shaheen of NH released a retirement announcement today. Makes sense given her age and the way midterms usually work for the out-of-power party. What are you waiting on Sen. Durbin?
Wheaton CUSD 200 receives $10M in funding each year from the US Dept. of Education.
I am looking forward to hearing what CUSD 200 plans to cut when the Dept of Education is closed. I assume most of those funds are for special education for children with disabilities, which Trump has labeled “DEI.”
Parents of children with autism might not like the answer.

Snoop for president then?

I’ll jump on the Durbin must go bandwagon.
His time has come and gone. He’s a cooperator, not a fighter, which is what Illinois needs now.
It’s time for State workers to come back into the office. We simply don’t have the manpower to do our jobs because of people “working” from their homes.
I’m shocked, absolutely shocked, that labor’s proposal to fix transit is to give labor official appointments to the transit board, and to hire more transit ambassadors (also known as union positions).
How do these ambassadors increase the number of buses or trains in service? How do those salaries get funded?
Not good, but they could possibly cut money from other areas of their budget. Increased class sizes, cutbacks on teacher assistants, postpone new athletic uniforms, etc.

The “need” to come back into the office to be productive is a bunch of hooey. My office had to do work from home two times, once during Covid, and once when we lost our manager and they weren’t replaced for most of the summer. In both cases, our productivity was never higher than when we were at home doing the work our way, on our own recognizance, without a useless middleman busybody peeking over our shoulders
The Durbin must go thing is rather puzzling to those of us of a certain age. I remember being told that it was the mean Republicans wanted to push seniors off a cliff in their wheelchairs.
What was Dogg’s felony conviction? When was his felony conviction? What was his punishment? Did her complete his punishment? Does he have outstanding warrants that would prevent him from drawing thousands to the Illinois State Fair to hear one of the original rap artists?
Trump continues to violate the law, the Constitution. I doubt the same can be said of Dogg, other than he smokes weed where ever he wishes.

@StateWorker - Wednesday, Mar 12, 25 @ 10:29 am:
When I am in the office I sit in a cubicle staring at a computer screen all day. All my work is online. Why do I need to be sitting in a cubicle in an office?
Give us Barrabbas is correct. Local 2224 filed a remote work grievance that went to arbitration. During testimony the union provided concrete metrics proving productivity was not affected, and management agreed productivity was not affected by 100% remote work. They had other reasons for denying 100% remote work like managers wanting to be able to see bodies sitting in cubicles (partial snark, actually they used team building and collaboration) and the arbitrator agreed. My office is currently on a hybrid schedule. Again, why do I need to be sitting in a cubicle all day when I can do the same work at home, including collaborating, online?

If any of them had the guts, they’d announce before Durbin says whether he’s running or not. First one that does that gets my vote.

Agree that Durbin should make way for a younger senator. We have to gain ground in the midterms and the team needs a fresh bench.

Jonathan Martin’s Rahm piece is certainly something. A run in the Dem primary with true eyes for a Cabinet post is certainly plausible.
But yes. Durbin. Please read the room. So many Illinois pols are so brazenly chomping at the bit, it’s getting funny.
