Mayor Koos re-elected for a 6th term. Dems sweep Normal township Supervisor, Clerk and Trustees (in 2017 they were all republicans) all with about 60%, Brady won but was held to below 50% (he won Bloomington by 65% for SOS) … overall a great day in McLean County.
The guv’s one time nemesis lost his small town mayor’s race. I sure am glad he spent all those millions elevating the far right at the peak of pandemic hysteria to make his re-election 2% easier…
Bobby Hernandez who appears to have beat Dennis Reboletti for Addison Township supervisor never worked for Barbara Hernandez, but is chief of staff for Norma Hernandez. Congrats Bobby and his team..They put in the hard work, knocking doors.
@I88, thank you(bp)
That Irvin speech cracked me up(bp)
And I guess he was thinking what we all were thinking, that he not only a has been but he has become a nobody. Shouting about it doesn’t help.
What does Dennis Cook, Irvin’s longtime political consultant do now that he has gone down in flames twice, one against Republicans and one against Democrats? Hopefully he stashed enough of the Ken Griffin money leftovers since nobody in politics will ever hire him if they have any sense.

this is the most bizarre concession speech I’ve ever seen in Illinois history - Richard Irvin getting ousted as Mayor of Aurora.
Proft knocked him out in the IL Gov primary in 2022 and Pritzker helped knock him out this time.
Irvin’s plan to run for US Senate just vaporized - he has managed to be hated be hated by Republicans and Democrats!

MrJM- Yes it is a good day in DuPage County. It was pretty lonesome to be a Dem in DuPage when I moved here in the 80s. It feels much better now.
