Kevin Warren has 229 days left in 2025 to get shovels in the ground for the new stadium.

Illinois lawmakers are looking to collect $2.7 billion statewide by expanding sales taxes from mainly goods to many services such as streaming services, rideshares, gym memberships, car repair and more.
Looks like the Supermajority “behind the curtain tax increase” plans are starting to get traction….
Hands down, my favorite guitar video of all time is when Prince played at the Rock and Roll hall of fame induction with Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, and Jeff Lynne in 2004.
Just rewatched it for, about the 100th time, still get goosebumps.
The comments section recalled the time Clapton was asked how he felt about being the greatest guitarist of all time and his reply was something like “You have to ask Prince”.

One of my favorite places as a motorist is the Outer Drive (DuSable Lake Shore Drive).
While the views of the lake and the buildings are still magnificent, I was discouraged to see so much of the infrastructure is decayed and crumbling. The fences are rusting and the posts are in need of replacement. The ornamental concrete and masonry on the bridges over the viaducts are ready to collapse.
Traveling north, there are major homeless encampments from Belmont Avenue as far as Margate Park.

Jackmak’s post late yesterday afternoon re: JJJ’s nonendorsement of Kelly had me thinking (copied for reference):

Speaking of seniority, Lauren Underwood’s best move is to stay out of the Senate race and move up the House ranks. If the Dems retake the chamber, I’d think she’d be in line for a committee chair. If Underwood stays longer, a party leadership position would be a good bet. She’s personable, smart and works hard. Illinois 14 is lucky to have her.”
If Underwood decides to seek a statewide seat, rather than the Senate why not go for either replacing Stratton as LG–or if JB doesn’t run, to run for Governor instead? Lauren would make a great candidate for both and a historic moment for Illinois.
Sign of the times…agree wholeheartedly. LSD or Potawatomi Drive as my Native Amaricans friends call it, is indeed in need of major repair work. But give the Mayor’s priority of funding failing schools, several which are underutilized, makes more sense for the inept.

The BGA bringing in Rahm to speak at an award for investigative journalism is, uh, an interesting choice, as Anthony Moser notes on Bluesky.

My favorite on the Carter Vintage Guitars page is an old one by Sierra Ferrell, with incredible fiddle playing by Josie Toney:

Just waiting to see how the working poor and working class folks in Illinois respond when Walmart raised prices next week or so.
I bet the blame Biden, given their tendency to listen to talk radio and Fox Media.
