It was a long weekend. Had a small get together Friday at our home, Premier League soccer Saturday morning, a coworker’s party Saturday night,, and I went to watch football with a friend during the day yesterday. For someone who doesn’t go out much anymore or stay out late very often it was a long(but good) weekend!
Hope you and Isabel were able to get some rest this weekend, Rich. Thank you for all you to do.
We spent a long weekend showing out-of-state friends around Starved Rock State Park and environs. The weather was perfect, and we scored big in the dining arenas of Ottawa and Utica at least three times. Also (here in my dotage) I can still reach the top of the Rock, even while carrying a 10-lb dog during the scary parts (i.e., open-stair descents and overly enthusiastic Labradors).

I was well-rested until about 3:20 Sunday afternoon. That Bears game aged me 30 years in 5 minutes.

As a kid, I loved “Falling Back” with the time change. An extra hour of sleep!
Now that I’m past my prime, the time change means that I’m waking up at 4 am rather than 5. Ugh!

Totally agree, the Bears game sped up the aging process. Those who endured the pain got rewarded.
The Chicago rib restaurant Gale Street Inn that closed earlier this year announced on social media that it’s returning.

A lot of Jesse’s lyrics really force some thinking - “the benevolence of predators will always blow my mind”
So true, well said.
Just got 4 tickets for Billy Strings in Nashville in February. A few sections open still. Hubby is going to be super blown away!
From one of my favorites of his, Gild the Lily– “I’d sing along with the birds, if I only knew the words”

This is great to hear, I’ll let my 88yo mom know, it’s a favorite haunt of hers.

I see the time change gremlin is still in full effect.
I vote we (state, not capfax commentors) stop falling back and springing forward?

It’s officially announced, but with a new owner.
