I mean, if she could touch her nose with her tongue or wiggle her ears or do an impression of Rodney Dangerfield, would that be more relevant than a full split?
However, if political endorsements have a Goofiness Award, it’s a sure winner.
Surprised nobody commented on how impressive it is for wacky Maria Pappas at age 76 to still be able to do a full split. That said, umm, wow.
And yea, I agree with 47 above. Not sure the timing of this is super awesome given her name on the tax bill I just got and was horrified by. On that basis alone, I would have given it an F but the splits redeem it and I give it a D.

Um, what?
- Rich Miller - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:10 pm:
My favorite part…
- localgovhero - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:11 pm:
Well Rich, I will be logging off for the day. See you tomorrow.
- BigLou - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:13 pm:
Looks like that was filmed in a county office. Makes this even worse.
- 47th Ward - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:16 pm:
Maria Pappas? Really? The person whose name is on my tax bill that just went up 60%? That Maria Pappas?
- Brian Johnson - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:20 pm:
if you are going to use the actual thunderstruck shouldn’t the split be coordinated with the THUN-DUR? Very memorable though
- LizPhairTax - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:21 pm:
And the award for best use of Hunt’s Catsup version of Thunderstruck in an endorsement post goes to…

===Looks like that was filmed in a county office.===
The carpet is too clean for this to be a county office.
- Billionaire Budster - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:27 pm:
Yikes

Summation: Dems sure are crazy folk

Can’t imagine any other Cook County official who could get up off the floor without assistance.
- Think again - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:41 pm:
Cring - but sorta funny - reminds me of SNL’s Sally O’Malley.
- Three Dimensional Checkers - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:42 pm:
First, I do not think Cubs fans should be allowed to use Thunderstruck.
It’s an endorsement for Margaret Croke that is all about Maria Pappas, so props to her I guess.
But still, 8.5/10, solid B+. It is funny and memorable, which is more than you can say for a lot of endorsements.
- JoanP - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:42 pm:
It’s not playing for me, but, judging from the comments, that may not be a bad thing.
- Norseman - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:43 pm:
I’m split on rating it the worst or thinking it’s so horrible that you can’t forget it.
- Torco Sign - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 12:47 pm:
I rate it…

- James - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 1:07 pm:
This feels desperate. Holly is slowly but surely outworking everyone, and she has the momentum. Cue this ridiculousness.
- Rich Miller - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 1:12 pm:
James, everything you wrote is utter nonsense except the last sentence.
I mean, desperate? Come on, dude. It’s November. Momentum? Evidence, please.
- Streator Curmudgeon - Monday, Nov 17, 25 @ 1:42 pm:
Yow.
