Fun fact REO was the first paying act managed by Danville native Irv Azoff, who started fronting for bands while still in high school.
He was also still and undergrad when he went to work for REO, getting them big air time on St. Louis’s KSHE-95, one of the pioneers of rock radio.
Irv quickly signed another student musician Dan Fogelberg, a Peoria native. He went on to manage The Eagles and many others in the industry, running MCA, Giant Records, Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
Not surprisingly he is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
IDK if the guy is a genius or just the luckiest guy in entertainment, but everything he touches seems to turn to gold.
He dabbled in movies and co-produced “Fast Times at Ridgemont High.”
@Thomas Paine–thank you for the fun facts [excalamation point]
On my end, because I am not currently tied to ILGA action, Mr. K and I just spent 4 lovely days in Galena (our home base is Chicago). I’d never been, and have to admit I was not familiar with the incredible history (political and otherwise) of the area. Pleased to have learned more about this incredible state of ours (the beautiful weather and off-season lack of crowds didn’t hurt either).
Leslie K., Galena is a true treasure to this state. I went on a first date there with someone, and on the 5th anniversary of that date, we went back there and became husband and wife. Alot of history there. We go back on our “anniversaries” every year and learn something new every year.

I have been on a Gary Richrath kick for about six months. This is such a great guitar song.
What a great band. They could all play.
