Finally the din has ceased in Laketown, CWLP valve/ boiler maintenance created a sound like a continuous jet takeoff for a full day on into the evening. I don’t begrudge them needing to do that work but would have appreciated a heads up about it, and an assurance it wasn’t some kind of emergency.
