And now for something completely different
Thursday, Jul 16, 2026 - Posted by Rich Miller * Rosetta “Rosie” Brown is the Democratic candidate taking on Rep. Amy Elik (R-Alton) in the 111th House District race. That’s Ms. Brown on the left, and behind her is a casket with a person in it. I’m making no judgements here, but I’ve never seen video of a candidate standing in front of an open coffin… The family of the deceased didn’t seem to mind, so to each their own, I suppose…

Maybe it was just the rehearsal.

This is clearly an uncrypted moment with a dead-serious delivery. It appears Ms. Brown won’t pass on this endorsement, and I hope this video doesn’t depart from her social media pages.

Maybe she was stopping by to pick up his absentee ballot. /S

I cannot think of a more appropriate headline for this item. John Cleese would be proud.
Other than that, I’m at a loss for words.

Ah ha. Trump will use this as evidence of voting fraud in tonite’s speech.

Rosie seems super sweet, and also her two friends she spotlighted.
I like seeing the faith aspect brought in by a candidate and wouldn’t mind seeing more discussion of spiritual beliefs.
People of all faiths should feel comfortable being their true selves.
It’s the best way for a constituent to know if the candidate has a similar value system.
When something like burial practices, like this, is treated as a taboo, it’s unfortunate.

What an odd place to be taking pictures with people.

She’s just reviving the proud Roman tradition of funerals being political events.
I am just disappointed her video didn’t start with “Friends, Romans, Countrymen”
