I suppose air quality is something I’ll need to start factoring into my life.
When I was young, we were poisoned with leaded gas fumes. Now it’s wildfires, all because we wouldn’t make mild changes to our lifestyles.

As we saw with Covid, a lot of people get upset if they have to change anything about what they think is ‘normal’ and resent being asked to change at all. It’s like the folks who during drought still go all out with their watering, because no one is going to tell -them- what to do and doing something for others is for suckers.

The smoke and haze are really bad. Chicago hit 638 on a scale of 500, which is quite the accomplishment (not in a good way, obviously). Some records you don’t want to break.

When I was in high school in Indiana, we used to listen to WLS on the bus. In the a.m. we had Animal Stories. In the afternoon, when we were awake, we’d sometimes sing along to the hits. I particularly remember feeling chills one afternoon when (what seemed to be) everyone was singing Dreamweaver. And of course a busload of Bohemian Rhapsody was INSANE. Great fun.
