House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch said calling for Ammons to resign would be premature. He has temporarily removed Ammons from the House Democratic caucus and her committee assignments while the case moves forward.
“We may not be able to legislative bad behavior, but we can absolutely demand transparency, accountability and meaningful penalty enhancements or consequences for those who betray the public’s trust,” said House GOP Leader Tony McCombie (R-Savanna).
