I was born here and I’ll die here against my will
I know it looks like I’m moving, but I’m standing still
Every nerve in my body is so vacant and numb
I can’t even remember what it was I came here to get away from
Don’t even hear a murmur of a prayer
It’s not dark yet, but it’s getting there
It seems notable that in a year House Democrats hope for a anti-Trump surge, they appear to have thrown in the towel against Stephens, on paper one of the most winnable seats in the state.
Yet his opponent, William Hallihan, ran as a write-in, and does not appear to even have a campaign committee.
Been only a few minutes but I note no comments on campaigns. Sorta suggests November outcome a forgone conclusion unless the hat 5 grand we are all getting makes a difference.
Probably more excitement for Chicago mayor race
Rep. Briel is scheduled to hold a town hall this evening in a DeKalb church. My mission there, should I choose to accept it, is to seek a campaign worker code-named “Mediocre White Man.”

Happy music?
Brad Stephens has an opponent, FWIW.

*Another* water main break in Springfield - this one bad enough that one of the middle schools is closed for the day.

This song demonstrates the beauty that exists in desolation. Bob creates that beauty like few others. Great choice.

Bob Dylan is most sublime when it comes to describing decline.
