I must have missed this from last week, because I’m sure you would have covered this Rich:

I know it’s fun to hammer the Cubs, but news is news, right? Keep it fair and balanced.

Gloria Campos, RNC Latino Vice Chair, has started a campaign to get Rafael Rivadeneira appointed to Cronin’s Senate seat.

From a Campos letter to Republican Precinct Committeeman:

“I am writing you today regarding the appointment to the 21st District Senate Seat being vacated by Senator Cronin. Although I don’t live in the 21st District, the new person being appointed will have a say on issues that will impact my family and Illinois as a whole.

“I respectfully ask you to call 630-792-0040 or email senatorcronin@aol.com and urge Senator Cronin to appoint Rafael Rivadeneira to the seat he will soon vacate.”

As much as I personally like Rafael, his campaign for State Representative enraged many people here in DuPage County. He chose to make Cronin the butt of a negative hit piece, in a race where Cronin was not his opponent or any way involved. To think that Cronin would select Rafael after his unprovoked attack on Cronin is laughable on its face. I suspect that Cronin will select an up-and-coming conservative to replace him in his senate seat. While many consider Rafael to be such an person, he will never be appointed to Cronin’s seat.

    Ever.

IDOT’s haste to select the people who will get really rich by building and operating the Illiana is a perfect example of how Quinn still doesn’t know how to govern. There are a lot of Latino, African-American, Asian, and Women interests who understand that if IDOT proceeds right now, they will be cut-out, not just in the construction, but in financing, issuing bonds for, and operating this private highway. As usual, Quinn’s office just isn’t paying attention. Let’s see if they pay any more attention when the minority caucuses take up the issue during the veto session.

  5. - Cronin is a tax raising RINO - Tuesday, Nov 16, 10 @ 4:30 pm:

Cronin’s camp keeps throwing out lines about Rafael’s “negative hit piece” on Cronin. Here’s a link to that piece: http://rafaelrivadeneira.com/docs/blitz2_taxes_web.pdf

Since when does “Dan Cronin voted to raise the sales tax to bail out the CTA” on a 2-sided postcard constitute a hit job? Is Cronin that soft? Or do Cronin’s paid hacks like Cincinnatus think that the public is that dumb? Cronin DID vote to raise sales taxes. Doesn’t Cronin want people to know how he votes?

  6. - Cronin is a tax raising RINO - Tuesday, Nov 16, 10 @ 5:44 pm:

Cincinnatus aka Frank. The only people Rafael enraged in DuPage were Dan Cronin and his RINO buddies like you that say you are conservative and then support tax raising RINO’s like Cronin. Let’s not forget that Cronin also voted to raise taxes on candy and soda pop and the expansion of video gambling.

“To think that Cronin would select Rafael after his unprovoked attack on Cronin is laughable on its face.” - This is typical good old boy Republican network that the Tea Party folks have warned about in the past and a classic case of RINO (Republican In Name Only). Folks watch for this tyoe of rheteoric. I have met Mr. Rivadeneira before and found him to be a kind gentleman. He was very intelligent, well mannored, presented him self very well and did not push his credentials on me or even use his Spanish ethnicity on me, in fact he spoke to English rather than Spanish. Mr. Rivadeneira is also of Cuban desent and talked to me how treasures and appreciates the American values of Life, Liberty and that it is up to each individual to pursue their own personal happines rather than by government aid or political favor as Mr. Rivadeneira acknowledges happens in the land from which ancestors came from. Mr. Rivadeneira also criticized the government of Cuba and states that this is what he is seeing here and this has been his motivation for running, that we may be a free state. In my opion this is a great opportunity for the Republicans to prove that they are not racist and show the country a fine outstanding young man that embraces American Conservative values and denounces political favors and big government that can ruin a country like it has Cuba.
