My hair is waaaaay better than his.

  5. - OneMan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:29 am:

Tom Cross is thinking, at least I can hit Sonic on the way back…

  6. - Obamas Puppy - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:30 am:

From this angle he kind of looks like Ty Fahner.

  7. - dupage dan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:30 am:

The hair, the hair? Forget the hair, check out his tie. It’s moving!

  8. - Tommydanger - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:30 am:

Political fashion observers will note the cheery contrast of Rep. Cross, yellow shirt and bold patterned red tie to the rather drab and barely contrasting beige shirt and tie of the Governor. Finally, as if they cannot help themselves, Rep. Cross’ knot points decidedly to the right and the Governor’s knot points to the left and the direction of his fortunes.

  9. - OneMan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:31 am:

Yet again progress in the state was hampered dude to the gulf between those who feel there should be contrast between your shirt and tie and those who feel they should blend together.

  10. - bored now - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:32 am:

These kids came to school to get a J-O-B. A JOB. I’ve been talking about this for ages, and now even the young people know. We need J-O-B-s. That’s what I’m talkin’ about…

  11. - Small Town Liberal - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:32 am:

Cross struggles to maintain composure as every word Quinn says reminds him that he decided to go golfing on election day.

  12. - OneMan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:33 am:

“Is that a tag hanging off of the back of Quinn’s collar?”

  13. - So. ILL - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:34 am:

Pictured above is the least influential man in Illinois politics, as well as Leader Tom Cross.

  14. - Skeeter - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:36 am:

Given his silence during the last session, reporters concluded that Gov. Quinn needed the little microphone, with the big one going to the person who actually had some input on the budget.

  15. - OneMan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:37 am:

I am here at the fine University, the finest in Aurora, which is known as the city of lights, because of it’s early adoption of electric street lights not because of Wayne and Garth. It’s on a river, a river that flows south, sometimes a mighty river, sometimes not, it may the the second largest city in the state, but is it truly mighty, like Galesberg, Springfield and dare I say Rockford. It’s next to Naperville, which is on a smaller, less mighty river, but has mighty people, yuppies, who work hard, drive imports, good people who live in DuPage and Will Counties, not Kendall county, which is also mighty and might I add a county.

  16. - CircularFiringSquad - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:38 am:

“And the winner of the Permanent Minority Leader title is ‘Billboards’ Cross” Henceforth the position will be refered to Office of the Cross

  17. - OneMan - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 9:40 am:

Did I mention Aurora has trains that go to Chicago and back again. It doesn’t have Amtrak service but we are going to fix that with a new high speed rail link between Aurora and Naperville and Downers Grove, a mighty rail link that will move businessmen, computer guys, accountants, secritaries between their J-O-B-S and homes. The trails will have internet, which is so important to our economy today, technology on trails that these children can use to learn about things, like how to play Halo better or what Justin Biber is up to today.

The two of us, in a bipartisan manner, will go to the lovely Hollywood casino in downtown Aurora and play blackjack in an attempt to find the money for the AFSCME raises. Blackjack is 18, right?

  25. - zatoichi - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 10:01 am:

  45. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 1:33 pm:

    “Lemme be quite clear.

Who scares me on Election Day via Field Operation. Easy. Michael J. Madigan.

Who scares me on the back 9, down two shots on Election Day on THAT golf course? The man standing behind me, that’s who. 39? Tom carded a 39 in that weather on Election Day! Sensational!

Now,… because Madigan scares me on Election Day on the streets, me signing that new map deal was Easy Peasy. But, give Tom his due, a 39 on the back 9 on that golf course on Election Day should scare all of you.”

  46. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 1:36 pm:

“Wait one second … comparing Tom Cross to Lee Daniels is just not fair. Tom Cross folds at least 2 times quicker than Daniels ever did, and my friends, that is saying something…”

  48. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 1:43 pm:

“Is Tom Cross a formitable foe? I would say ‘yes’.

When he and his caucus can actually DO something besides whine and cry about the Majority, then he will become even more irrelevent.”

  49. - Oswego Willy - Friday, Jul 15, 11 @ 1:57 pm:

“… and in the past Legislative Session, Tom Cross served as Minority Leader, taking the House GOP to new … levels … and let’s be honest, I would not be your governor again if Tom wasn’t a part of the ILGOP leadership …

Which is why I am very excited to introduce to you, your next State Senator in the General Assmebly, come next November, my friend, and I mean that … Tom Cross!”
