Question of the day

Wednesday, Jun 26, 2013 - Posted by Rich Miller

* The setup

Former Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady of St. Charles has started a new lobbying firm called Next Generation Public Affairs Inc.

He’s teaming up with former Iowa Republican Chairman Matt Strawn and Chicago business adviser Bob Fitzsimmons.

“NGPA is a full-service public affairs firm providing clients with comprehensive and technologically sophisticated government affairs, issue advocacy and media relations strategies,” Brady said in a statement.

* The Question: Likely clients…?

    Mike Madigan should throw him some business as thanks for all the help Pat Brady gave the Democrats.

  9. - CircularFiringSquad - Wednesday, Jun 26, 13 @ 1:41 pm:

    Hopefully the IL GOPies hire him to maintain the rich legacy that he brought to the party through his leadership.
    Then other traditional GOPie interests …predatory lenders, sloppy docs, shoddy manufacturers, risky pharma etc.

    And for Mr. Skillicorn, had the ILGOP realized it was the 21st century perhaps Mr. Brady’s ideas would have been more effective. How does that go about the horse and the water? BTW I’ll reiterate “perhaps”. I think the lack of awareness by his audience was more the issue than any lack of leadership by him…just my opinion.

    Good one, One Man.

    The Bob Fitzsimmons I know is a Geneva trial lawyer from Mayer Brown, not a ” Chicago business advisor.” He throws campaign cash around to mostly establishment and moderate types. This firm should use a rhino as its mascot. They can lobby for Equality Illinois, Main Street Partnership, Lunch Pail Republicans, Log Cabin Republicans, Maverick PAC and the like.

    We forgot Proft, the ReBooters and and other interested in fast moving committee filings that launder campaign cash through small GOPie county committees.

    His bio is hilarious. Greatest success in 10 years in 2010. No mention of 2012 though. Or how he guided the Republican Party to irrelevance in Illinois.
