Caption contest!

Wednesday, Aug 31, 2016 - Posted by Rich Miller

* From a reader…

Rich,

This has been showing up in parades in the LaSalle County Area. Not sure the guy towing it understands political messaging. Might be fun for a caption contest.

Enjoy.

I agree ignorance is voting without knowing what the candidates really stand for.

  2. - Cheryl44 - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 11:44 am:

    Trump, Pence, Ignorance.

    Makes sense to me.

  3. - Stones - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 11:50 am:

Stupidity is pulling a trailer on top of another trailer.

  4. - Northsider - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 11:53 am:

Stupid is as stupid does. Unfortunately, stupid also votes.

  5. - JS Mill - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:02 pm:

The manure wagon must have broken down, maybe that is why it is being it is being hauled on another trailer.

Brings to mind the old adage…”you can’t fix stupid.”

    Apparently he cannot.

  6. - AlfondoGonz - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:05 pm:

“All aboard the Trump Truck! Voters must be on their curbs before noon on Wednesday.”

  7. - Mattman - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:16 pm:

no….. “stupidity” is voting along party lines; “doom” is re-electing the same idiots over and over and over

  8. - @MisterJayEm - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:16 pm:

Kramer, handing out anti-mail pamphlets: “Here you go. Mail is evil. Pass it on. Hey, mail blows. Fax it to a friend.”
Woman: “Why does this dummy have a bucket on its head?”
Kramer: “Because we’re blind to their tyranny.”
Woman: “Then shouldn’t you be wearing the bucket?”

    “Words! Lots of Words!”

  11. - Ron Burgundy - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:33 pm:

    “Words! Lots of Words!”

They do appear to be spelled correctly, so points to this particular irate zealot. No “loosers” or bad apostrophe usage, so it’s a start.

  12. - Rabid - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:40 pm:

    Trump’s endorsement of the govenor

  15. - Bluegrass Boy - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:47 pm:

    Manure SPREADER?
    Well that’s even more appropriate.

He could add another point to his sign. INSANITY - voting for someone who is insane.

  16. - Old Dinah Sour - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:50 pm:

Trump on top of a pile of . . . in a political manure spreader.

  17. - Whatever - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:51 pm:

Illinois is when these are your only choices.

  18. - Anon221 - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 12:53 pm:

Gotta wonder if whoever designed this “float” understands what irony means;) Trump and Co. on top of a load of ___ and spreadin’ it all around!

  19. - Carhartt Representative - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 1:00 pm:

The Trump campaign got a great deal on this truck left over from Rauner’s gubernatorial bid.

  21. - 618er - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 1:08 pm:

I spent many days of my youth operating one of these. I think those operating this political ‘wagon’ realize what us operators of the genuine spreaders know, when the conditions are right, the contents can come back on you..

  22. - Rabid - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 1:14 pm:

Trump delivering the governor’s new two wheeler

  23. - Rabid - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 1:19 pm:

    It’s adorable.
    Power to the People!

  27. - Moby - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 1:43 pm:

So, just curious…for which R’s and which D’s is the owner of the sign recommending we vote…you know, just so I’m not voting party lines and all.

  28. - Dr X - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 2:06 pm:

After to refusing to read that Trump’s economic plan will add 10 trillion to the national debt, Jed used a meme generator to make a sign.

  29. - Quizzical - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 2:09 pm:

  31. - Delimma - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 2:16 pm:

The thing that bothers me about this is that the very people this crapcart is blaming for NOT raising revenue or spending on things like pensions are the same people who oppose any and all revenue increases, and who vehemently opposed fully funding pensions.

  32. - ZC - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 2:26 pm:

    “that continually raise our taxes”

From 1990 through 2010 - so twenty years - Illinois kept a constant 3% flat income tax.

In 2010, facing a growing retiree / elderly population, IL boosted that rate to 5%.

OMG. One income tax increase in 20 years.

    The voters are no bargain.

  33. - Beeker - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 2:50 pm:

Well we already know who and what is in Hillary’s wagon. And who’s pulling it. Yep.

  34. - Ghost - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 3:08 pm:

  35. - d.p.gumby - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 3:25 pm:

Does Brucie’s trash can van have the suspension to pull the s#!7 wagon?

  36. - @MisterJayEm - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 3:31 pm:

“It’s a yucky job, man, even in the best of conditions.”

It’s a bad day to wear a good hat.

    – MrJM

  37. - Steve Rogers - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 3:39 pm:

Perhaps the metaphor is Donald Trump, a bully and braggart, constantly finds himself in manure, just like Biff Tannen, the antagonist in the Back to Future movies….

  38. - Pot calling kettle - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 3:41 pm:

It’s a good political Rorschach test.

    “What message do you see?”

  39. - walker - Wednesday, Aug 31, 16 @ 4:48 pm:

    ==It’s a bad day to wear a good hat.==
