Krupa denies new allegations through attorney

Friday, Feb 8, 2019 - Posted by Rich Miller

* The Chicago Teachers Union is supporting 13th Ward Ald. Marty Quinn. The union sent out this letter the other day about his opponent

Dear 13th Ward Resident:

My name is Jan Muir. I am a middle school teacher, a member of the Chicago Teachers Union, and a victim of cyberstalking and cyberbullying by Aldermanic candidate David Krupa. Despite my desire to put this incident behind me, I’m writing today to share my story to inform others of his behavior.

Mr. Krupa harassed and bullied me through breaching a school computer system and posting disturbing language and images that shocked me and my students. In order to protect my students’ privacy, I will not share any additional information about the incident.

My sense of personal safety and security were violated, and this letter is part of my effort to hold him accountable for his behavior.

Through his actions, Mr. Krupa demonstrates complete disregard for women and a pattern of judgment that disqualifies him from holding public office. I respectfully request that you do not vote for Mr. Krupa in the upcoming municipal election.

I also hope that you will join me in speaking out about the dangers of cyberstalking and speak with your children about how to spot and prevent cyberbullying. More information is available at: https://www.stopbullying.gov/cyberbullying/prevention/index.html.

Thank you for reading my story and sharing it with your family and neighbors.

Best regards,
Jan Muir

Krupa has previously been accused by another woman of abuse. That, too, was denied.

* Response

“It’s a baseless, slanderous, scurrilous hit piece,” said attorney Tony Peraica. “David denies it, denies knowing this person, denies doing anything of the kind. He was never investigated, interviewed or charged.” Peraica added that he would seek legal action against the teacher and CTU, which did not respond to a request for comment.

The letter speaks for itself. I would think that CTU would not let their letterhead to be used by a member if there was nothing to the “Cyberbullying” claim.

  2. - Long Time R - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 11:13 am:

Well if Peraica says it didn’t happen then it didn’t. Oops I forgot he is the same Tony Peraica who said he never stole campaign signs from his opponents.

    That’s not good enough, Muir.

Did you report this alleged stalking and bullying to CPS? The police?

Your accusation requires foundation. You can certainly protect your students’ privacy while providing further details of your very serious accusation.

As it stands now, the information provided is insufficient to consider the accusation credible.

In almost every election cycle, I reach a point at which I become thoroughly disgusted with the people and tactics in some of the races, feeling the need to tune out until its all over. Here we are.

Let’s not forget that the wise solons at Mother Tronc endorsed Krupa over Quinn.

Well did Ms. Muir save screenshots of those messages?

Keep flaming the flames of baseless ,unsupportive accusations which ruin people’s lives..I know it’s in style but it needs to stop

  8. - Moe Berg - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 11:39 am:

Bobby: please tell us how you know they are baseless.

  9. - Twirling Towards Freedom - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 12:10 pm:

I would need to have some more information before I could lend much credence to this. He hacked into a school computer system and posted disturbing things for the teacher and students to see? Why would he do such a thing? How would he do such a thing? Perhaps most importantly, how does she know he is the one who did it? Even if I believe that she believes he did it, I have no way of knowing how reasonable that belief is. I’m not saying I don’t believe this, but I’d need to know a lot more before I could say I do believe it.

  10. - Creepy - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 12:17 pm:

This makes two separate women that have been harassed and abused. You got to love how the media chooses to ignore this guys Me2 violations.

  11. - Colin O'Scopy - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 12:29 pm:

    =baseless, slanderous, scurrilous”

Well, these are three concepts Tony Peraica would know.

  12. - Chicago_Downstater - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 12:36 pm:

First, depending on what the teacher means by hacking, it’s really not that hard to do. And it’s not like this is a DOD network we’re talking about here.

Second, Rich links to a CapFax post on his despicable behavior with another woman that included stalking and a whole lot worse. Click the link to refresh your memory. They don’t just hand out orders of protection willy-nilly folks.

It’s a much smaller leap that someone with a history of abusive behavior towards women acted abusively towards another woman than a woman–who could be sued for speaking out–falsified the report.

He’s seeking political office. There’s nothing wrong with judging him on this accusation especially given his history. So why are so many folks so ready to defend this dude? Seems an odd hill to die on to me.

David is up against Marty” graffi blaster” Quinn.

  14. - Anonymous - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 1:43 pm:

Krupa graduates highschool and announces his candidacy for 13th ward alderman. He lives in mom and dads rented house and works part time as a package handler at fed x. Two women have made serious allegations of abusive behavior and harassment. One actually had an order of protection against Krupa. Why are we even talking about this guy?

  15. - Roadrager - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 1:46 pm:

He may get stomped in the aldermanic race, but it looks more and more like Johnny Kass’ Special Boy has a bright and lucrative future awaiting him at Turning Point USA.

  16. - Twirling Towards Freedom - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 1:50 pm:

I’m not defending him. There are enough details in the 2017 allegations for me to say they are probably true. That’s not true of this new allegation. Is she just assuming he posted the words/images, or does she have evidence? If it’s the former, what is she basing that assumption on? Did she have a relationship with him? Was he angry at her for some other reason?

  17. - NoGifts - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 2:14 pm:

The alder-maniac race is on. :)

  18. - SammyG - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 2:26 pm:

Making harassment and stalking claims as part of a political piece could make it easier to dismiss any victim as simply election tactics. Look at the comments here.

  19. - don the legend - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 2:33 pm:

    ===baseless, slanderous, scurrilous”…

He failed to give credit to Jackie Chiles.

  20. - Anonymous - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 2:50 pm:

The simple fact that the #metoo movement does not apply to him, and supporters (Jeanne Ives, the tribune) simply disregards these allegations is ridiculous. I absolutely doubt this woman would make something up like this and have it sent to 13th ward registered residents if she did not have merit. It seems strange but we have not gotten all the details nor the whole story.

  21. - NoGifts - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 3:50 pm:

He hacked into the school computer system and posted shocking images and language that disturbed students, and nobody reported him to the police?

  22. - 13th warder - Friday, Feb 8, 19 @ 4:12 pm:

There is of course more to the story than meets the eye. As a member of the CTU, I am positive that they wouldn’t allow a woman to make up sham stories without proof of wrongdoing.
