    - Dan Hynes, maybe

  2. - Precinct Captain - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:11 pm:

Have they ever been seen at the same place at the same time?

  3. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:11 pm:

“Before I came back to state government, I had lovely brown hair, a dark beard… you come back for one session.., “

    - Dan Hynes, again, maybe

  4. - Roman - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:17 pm:

I think Hynes looks more like David Letterman with a well trimmed beard.

  5. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:17 pm:

They share iPhones, with face recognition, which is quite endearing, actually.

  6. - Lucky Pierre - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:19 pm:

Witness protection program so he looks nothing like the guy who kicked the pension payments down the road when he was Comptroller

  7. - Huh? - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:41 pm:

Brown - if I put on a pair of glasses, I will have an impenetrable disguise for my alter ego …

  8. - Thomas Paine - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:44 pm:

Separated at birth, by about 15 years or so.

Hynes is only 50, Brownie must be closing in on 70.

“People say I could pass for 50, but then they are comparing me to Dan Hynes.” - Kris Kringle

  9. - Langhorne - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:45 pm:

Steve is way more fun to have a drink with.

  10. - Been There - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:46 pm:

I agree with Roman. Definitely more of a Letterman look. And we all know how funny Dan can be.

So Lucky the Comptroller just gets to pay anything even if the GA doesn’t appropriate it? Why do we do the kapuka dance with the budget every May if the comptroller can just handle it?

  12. - Amalia - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:54 pm:

what a long, strange trip it’s been.

  13. - Roger - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 12:57 pm:

Now that session is over they can focus on the Kenny Rogers look-alike contests around the country.

  14. - Moi - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:00 pm:

Glasses Clark Kent, no glasses Bizarro Superman?

  15. - Just Me 2 - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:01 pm:

A state employee and a lobbyist walk into a bar…

“Those Hynes kids, they all look the same… “

  17. - Stevie Dan - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:03 pm:

I’m not sure who I feel more sorry for about this comparison.

    Past is prologue

  19. - Oswego Willy - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:15 pm:

    - Lucky Pierre -

    Lighten up.

“A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men.”

    - A. Lincoln, 1858

  20. - Flat Bed Ford - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:16 pm:

The Fed’s will still be able to tell them apart.

  21. - Lester Holt’s Mustache - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:17 pm:

Sheesh he got old fast. Seems like he was brown-haired, clean shaven candidate just a few years ago. Did he perhaps get struck by lightning recently?

    Past is prologue===
I’m not protecting Dan on his role at Dep Gov. I actually agree we should not kick the can. But I don’t get where you can blame him for the pension skips of the past.

  23. - A guy - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:23 pm:

It’s an Irish thing. You get carded until you’re 40…and then redeem AARP benefits the day after that birthday.

  24. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 1:25 pm:

===Seems like he was brown-haired, clean shaven candidate===

Dude has been prematurely gray since his 20s.

“And THAT’S how I got Madigan to agree to the Fair Tax amendment.”

  26. - Token Conservative - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 3:06 pm:

Hynes looks like he’s auditioning for the evil billionaire part in the next Batman movie.

  27. - Soccermom - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 3:23 pm:

I am such a nerd. I’m like — oh no, I missed the Brookings muni event!!!

  28. - A guy - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 3:49 pm:

Both those cats could use a half hour in the sun.

  29. - Lucky Pierre - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 3:57 pm:

Do you recall Dan Hynes using the bully pulpit of his office ala Susana Mendoza about the irresponsible legislature and governor’s kicking the can?

Of course not, he wanted their support when he ran for the US Senate and Governor’s Office.

  30. - Streator Curmudgeon - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 4:26 pm:

Hynes also looks a bit like Col. Potter from M*A*S*H.

  31. - Rich Miller - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 4:28 pm:

Streator, I really hope he doesn’t see that comment.

  32. - MG85 - Tuesday, Jul 16, 19 @ 11:39 pm:
