Chilly and cloudy in beautiful DuPage County this morning. First day in a long while it’s not expected to reach 70 degrees. Starting to feel like fall.
Very interested to see how many people show up for the White Sox $1 ticket game today.
Y’all wanna’ know why the lithium battery facilities are Chinese companies? It is because the world’s largest lithium mines are in — wait for it — China. There also lithium deposits in Chile and a few in New Mexico/Arizona, but the owners of those mines want China to deplete their source first so the world becomes dependent on theirs later.

Had to go and watch the Cubs game last night and see them blow leads at the end and lose. Shouldn’t have watched it. Would pretty much rather a team be bad all year than choke at the end.

It’s been a very long time since experiencing gentle rain coming down as we are experiencing this morning. Loving it.
Murphysboro, Illinois had reports (and a video, since taken down) that a student was using the See You At The Pole event yesterday morning to preach against gay people and to call them abominations. I’ve yet to see any official statements besides brief coverage on WSIL.
Memories of late night visits to all bars through the years at the “Hancock” building. Architect Bruce Graham and engineer Fazlur Kahn (who created the X braces that are so iconic as part of the structural scheme)sure made a great building that got us that top view.
= Was surprised to hear of the Signature Room in the Hancock closing. =
I always told people not to waste their money at the Sears or Hancock observation deck, but to go to the 96th floor and they could have the same view AND a drink.
And the ladies’ room on the 96th floor had the best view.

Great morning. Harvest, while not as good as last year’s record numbers, appears to be coming in with very good numbers

It had a good reputation in years past, but I went there last year for something and was thoroughly unimpressed.
