COVID and flu shot day at our house. We had to call our local health department over the past three weeks before they had received doses. Are any other LHDs experiencing these sort of supply disruptions?
Reading about ISU’s largest-ever freshman class and all the students having to stay in extra cramped school housing makes me even more mystified about ISU’s finances.
Keep in mind that ISU’s president was hired from within after a mystery firing of the prior president that was never explained but the new president was given a 20% pay hike over the old one that was forced out ($75,000 pay hike to $450k base salary).
What are you even doing ISU board of trustees?

hisgirl- nice update on the ISU situation. I had no idea enrollment was so high. Or that the finances were so messed up.
As a former Watterson resident, I can testify that most two-person rooms were pretty small and can’t imagine squeezing a third person in there. Good luck kids….
With how expensive college is nowadays, even at secondary state institutions, I’d be pretty mighty peeved if I was a student or parent of a student at an institution that can’t even get housing sorted out.

I got one of those Local 150 attack mailers about my alderman and all it accomplished was making me aware they are supporting policies I support?

How is it they have record enrollment and still need to make $5.6 million in mid-year budget cuts?

And does the university’s employee pay freeze include any adverse compensation conditions for the ISU president?

It’s going well here. I think I am the only Illinoisan not going to Japan though. I’ll hold down the fort.
