AG Kwame Raoul was the guest at City Club lunch in Chicago Tuesday. Raoul recognized FBI Chicago SAC Doug Podesta at his table. Totally shocked that FBI would go near City Club after searching their office at 400 Michigan Ave. in 2019 for Jay Doherty documents.

He was a great friend. Such a nice man, and so much fun and a heck of a musician. Wrote some good songs, too.
Raoul was playing at the Brewhaus one night and we went out the back door for a smoke break. He was clearly in pain, so I asked him what was going on. He said he thought it was his sciatica. Turns out, he had cancer everywhere in his bones and his hip was broken.
His hospital room was constantly attended to by his many, many friends. They’d dip into the stairwell to have a quick smoke so they weren’t gone too long. The nurses seemed to get a kick out of all the hippies hanging out with a patient.
Raoul passed two weeks later surrounded by friends. I had the great privilege of being one of those people. Even smuggled in some Kentucky whiskey to his room.
Been thinking about Raoul a lot lately.
