Republican U.S. Senate candidate Don Tracy today released a new statewide television and digital advertisement, Keep It Simple, contrasting his common sense approach to leadership with the costly consequences of Juliana Stratton’s extreme agenda.
I’d give it a B. It’s not a bad ad but he’s running for Senator not Governor. The issues in Washington are far different from what Tracy is choosing to focus on in his ad.
I am giving this ad a C. Average at best. The messaging almost seems like the campaign can’t afford any polling and can’t agree one what needs to be the priority. Does anyone know this guy is running for US Senate? He is spending way too much time talking about his opponent with his very limited ad budget.
His actual discussion of issues is also weak. But it is clear, he’s the candidate for people who have had the same hair style for, well, many years. To be fair, I don’t think men who have his hairline have a lot of options, but he has picked one that seems to suit the kind of guy who pollsters are thinking of when they poll for a ‘generic republican.’
We’re just over 3 months away. At this point I think Tracy gets a thumbs up if he walks away from this campaign without severely damaging his reputation by sharing a ballot with Darren Bailey and running in Donald Trump’s Gathering o’ Pedophiles.
As soon as I saw gas prices, I thought “war in Iran.” B+ for tone and production, but C overall because I do not think it will persuade undecided voters to vote for Tracy. It might actually do the opposite.
It’s aimed at somebody and I guess that somebody is not me. I watched it a couple of times with sound on and sound off. Can somebody with more knowledge and understanding of how these things work explain why JB is sped up so much when he’s talking and BJ and Stratton seem regular speed?
