Another Bears click-bait and switch? (Updated)
Thursday, Aug 13, 2026 - Posted by Isabel Miller
* Lots of rumors were being spread by the usual suspects in the past days about a big Bears’ announcement happening today…

…Adding… Oops!…

* Sun-Times reporter Patrick Finley…
* And about that second stadium site being touted…
* Governor JB Pritzker was asked today if he was given a heads up about the press conference…
Pritzker: No heads up on any announcement. As I understand this is really a regular feature for the Bears at the beginning of a season, and it’s been made into something greater than that by others. But we’ll have to see. I know they’re going to talk to the media at noon.
* Gov. Pritzker was also asked today if his staff has been in contact with the Bears…
Pritzker: The answer is yes, that we’ve had contact, our staff, their staff, and we’re working hard to make sure that there’s an opportunity for the Bears to stay in the state of Illinois, whether it’s in Chicago or in Arlington Heights. It’s something that I personally as a Bears fan want very much. I also want at the same time to protect the fans and the taxpayers of the state. So we’re going to do everything we can to make sure that that happens. […]
Pritzker: Well, they’ve not presented a bill. They have various things that they’ve talked to us about, but they haven’t presented a language in a bill to us.
The Bears press conference is scheduled to start at 12:15. Click here to watch.

NFL reporters are the best. Always ready to carry water for the team and league.

Serious question for commenters that are residents of that fair city-
Would telling the Bears to kick rocks really hurt a pols re-election chances?

FYI - Ben Devine has retracted his post.

In his latest post a few minutes ago, Ben Devine now claims he was “duped” and is retracting his previous prediction of stadium deal announcement. LOL. Duped.

Remembering the days when ESPN had the likes of Dick Schaap, Bob Ley, and yes, Olbermann.
Now, it’s just one hair cut screaming at another.

It is once again time for Marc Ganis to impotently shake his fist in Springfield’s direction on the radio.

The exact reason I only ever tune in for an actual game.
