Maybe, but it plays against type. JB looks like he’s trying to be a cool kid, and… just no. He’s not a cool kid and never was. Go back to the dad jokes.

I don’t want cool–that’s for California and they get what they deserve in Newsome. Give me the Dad jokes and occasional Malort shot.
The zooming, panning and jerky facial and hand movements suggest to me that this video is an AI animation or a video filmed to imitate one.
I’m rapidly leaving middle age behind, but paired with the text, I’d bet this is the work of a 38 year old who still thinks that they are in touch with the kids. Please no more of this, JB campaign.

I don’t dislike JB. But I’m ready for this shadow run for president episode to be over with.
That would make him cringe. You definitely don’t want to be cringe when you’re aura farming.
The question is why? I’m guessing that JB is so far ahead that he wants to capture the 18-21 voters to run up the score. Although I also suspect that the target audience would consider this to be an epic fail.
This is his response to the post-2024 election analysis that “Democrats have a problem reaching young men.”
If you ask me, this does nothing and isn’t anything more than putting on a facade in an attempt to seem relatable to the youngsters. A real “how do you do, fellow kids?” moment.
I’ve never heard the phrase aura farming until I saw The Odyssey a few weeks ago, and my Gen Z daughter said Agamemnon was aura farming in the movie. I understood it. What JB is doing is not aura farming.

It’s for the kids. The Zoomers, not the Boomers.

“Aura farming refers to the act of doing something to look cool, impressive, stylish, etc., especially—and importantly—without trying too hard.”
–Merriam-Webster Dictionary
That’s the definition. The reason for his post is anybody’s guess.
My take is 90% of voters will say, “What the…?”

It’s a twitter video. Hardly impactful. The only thing you can really do online with any sort of regularity is create problems for yourself.

Makes no sense. Aaron Del Mar regularly posts narcissistic, cringy AI generated vids. No clue why Pritzker felt the need to say “hold my beer.”
